Enchiladas, burritos, and margaritas…Oh, my! Drive south of the border to Si Señor Authentic Mexican Restaurant, located at 27155 Detroit Rd in Westlake, OH. Between daily specials that are truly special, free Kids Meals on Sundays, and friendly, efficient staff, this is a great place to satisfy your craving for Mexican food. It’s got it all: chips and salsa, a Kids Menu with typical American kid foods and Mexican food, imported beers, appetizers, dinners, desserts, and even vegetarian options.
Many restaurants seem to have a “feature” of the day, which is just a suggested meal choice at regular menu price. However, Si Señor offers a true “special” each day. These are regular menu items offered at a discounted price. So far, every time I have eaten there, I have ordered one of the daily specials. I have not been disappointed once. The portion sizes are generous, and hot food is served quickly, even with the price slashed for the day.
It is hard for me to enter a Mexican restaurant and resist the temptation to order a margarita. At Si Señor, I give in to that temptation at almost every visit. The frozen margarita has always been the perfect consistency, and tastes delicious to this margarita junky. It is important to know, though, that there is no sneaky bartender squandering the alcohol. These margaritas are absolutely alcoholic, so beware if you will have to drive home after dinner.
If I had to name one disappointing thing at Si Señor in Westlake, it has to be the restroom situation. There are only two toilets. One is for the ladies, one is for the gentlemen. Especially in the evenings, you may end up doing the shooshy dance while waiting to get into one of the restrooms. The shooshy dance is difficult when consuming beer (or margaritas!) You have been warned, so don’t wait too long to get into line if your bladder starts knocking!
Grab the family, or your sweetheart, or a group of friends. Head to Si Señor in Westlake. Check the chalkboard as you enter, and order the special of the day and a delicious Mexican beer or a margarita. Your taste buds will thank you. Olé!
