With today’s technology. we compete with so many different types of entertainment it is hard to get someone to stop and listen to what we are saying. The rolling eyes as they hit the pause button, or the frantic glances at their watch remind us we are not a welcome interruption. So, what would you do to get a few minutes of listening time?
You know, I tried to talk to you,
You left to walk to the store.
I started to speak at dinnertime,
You gave me your plate for more.
I gave you a hug, opened my mouth,
you ran for the t.v.
I know the game is important to you,
but what the heck about me?
You’re skydiving tomorrow,
There’s something I have to say.
I’m not sure how to reach you,
but will try to find a way.
I can handle you working late
and sometimes being gone at nights.
So jumped with you to tell you
“Honey, I’m afraid of heights!”
And thank you for finally listening.
