I find this less interesting as when he joined the Royal Air Force. I don’t know why, but Prince William’s engagement seems rather blasÉ. William isn’t the first royal to become engaged. Remember his mum, Princess Diana? Remember the televised event of Prince Charles and her wedding?
Really, is he going to be able to top anything his parents have done over the years? In reality, no. So, he’s their son. Anyone in the world remember his brother, Prince Harry? It seems he has been pushed back into the shadows by William’s life in the world.
Yes, I may sound like an uncaring slob when it comes to the British Royalty. However, if Prince William wants to catch my attention, joining the Royal Air Force and becoming engaged isn’t what’s going to do it for me.
If he gave up his kingdom for some poor girl in his country, he may have my attention. That would tell me he’s not all about power and the fame of what it all brings to him. It would tell me he’s not just into being a Prince for the fame and all that goes with it. Then again, what do you do when you’re born with a literal silver spoon in your mouth?
Am I jealous? Nope, I like my life the way it is. I don’t have to worry about the eyes of the world being on me. I don’t have to worry about the “oops, I goofed and now the world is talking how bad I am.”
Am I mad? Nope. Again I don’t have to worry about what grandmum and the Royal House telling what I can’t and can do with my life. I don’t have my life laid out for me to miss out on all the things I would miss out on with a whole country telling I can’t do that because it’s not proper; like hanging out with my pals at the local pub playing pool on a Friday night.
Sometimes being proper and politically correct isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Sometimes just running a muck at his age does have some advantages. By being able to be the same as the rest of the males his age, he would make his mistakes and be able to learn from them.
