For those individuals that are required to stand most of the day due to the type of work they are in or for those individuals that are active by choice on a daily basis, it is important to stop and think for a minute about how all this standing may be impacting the feet and to a lesser extent the legs. Too much standing can result in sore feet and even achy legs. Stand for extended periods of time on a regular basis and the body eventually adjusts and the discomfort becomes less noticeable. Simply because the discomfort diminishes somewhat though does not mean that the same amount of stress and pressure is not being applied. It is important to take care of one’s feet because all of that wear and tear can add up and lead to problems down the line that are avoidable if the proper steps are taken to ease the workload placed on one’s feet. The Sofcomfort Everyday Gel Insole product is designed to do just that, but do not expect to notice a significant difference in comfort once these insoles are placed within your shoes like I did or you are bound to be a bit disappointed.
The gel insoles will fit in shoes that are as small as a seven and as big as a thirteen. The gel insoles are designed to be placed in a man’s shoe, so the shoe sizes apply to men’s shoes only. The gel insoles can be trimmed in size if they are too big for a particular shoe size. When I first purchased these gel insoles, I expected them to make a big difference in comfort, but after placing the gel insoles inside my shoes, I only noticed a slight improvement in comfort. Gel insoles are said to be more comfortable and beneficial than insoles that are made out of other materials, but I cannot say that I was particularly impressed with the gel insoles. The gel insoles are supposed to provide exceptional shock absorption, superior cushioning and an additional layer of comfort for one’s feet. Now it is certainly possible that these gel insoles are making a difference each and every day and thus are reducing the odds of me developing health issues later in life in regards to my feet, but what I do know is that I have not noticed much of an increase in comfort while walking or standing. My feet do not hurt as much after standing or walking for an extended period of time, but the discomfort is still there, and almost as noticeable as before I put these gel insoles in my shoes.
It is possible that my expectations were simply too high when I tried out these gel insoles. They do make a difference when it comes to comfort, but the difference was not worth ten dollars for a two pack. If the gel insoles reduce the strain, stress and pressure my feet are under and thus help prevent health problems later in life, then obviously the ten dollars will be money well spent. As of now though, it is impossible to determine the effectiveness of the Sofcomfort Everyday Gel Insole product, but I will continue to wear the insoles because they stay in place in my shoes and do provide some improvement in comfort, so they are not a hassle to have in my shoes. Until I decide to try some other insoles, I will leave these in my shoes in the hopes that they are doing more good than I may realize.
