So it has finally come full circle for everyone hasn’t it, when the truth becomes a lie where do you go from there? This weeks episode was about understanding that not everyone has the same version of the truth, and that there are always 3 sides to every story….
So we are back in Charming where things are about to get very messy because there have been too many deals made and in the process many old deals have been broken. Jax still has to deal with Stahl wanting Jimmy and SAMCRO wanting Jimmy dead, Clay has made a deal with the Irish Kings for gun running, and Jimmy has made a deal with the Russians for a safe passage to South America. Too many of these deals overlap each other and this is a problem for everyone involved.
SAMCRO is all together again and it’s a reason to celebrate as everyone gathers in the clubhouse to eat, drink, and be merry. Jax,Tara,Abel, and baby to be, are one big happy family. Opie and Lyla are getting married so it’s time to party, but we all know it’s not going to last because there is bidnezz that needs to be taken care of in the town of Charming.
Gemma is just about going out of her mind because she knows that Jax’s deal with Stahl is a death sentence and since Jax’s won’t listen to her she decides to turn herself in to Unser, who calls Stahl to let her know what Gemma has done. Stahl tells Gemma that she is free and clear of all charges and that she has already documented Agent Tyler’s confession regarding the safe house shooting. Gemma sits back and sums up the entire season, “There is no trust. Something will go wrong, somebody will get hurt. I promise you, it will end badly.” Truer words have never been spoken.
Stahl heads on over to meet with Jax and tells him about Gemma turning herself in, she tells Jax that Gemma’s charges have been dropped due to Agent Tyler’s confession. Jax takes one look at her, realizes she killed her own girlfriend and that she is a straight up psychopath. This plants a seed of doubt in Jax’s mind about Stahl holding up her end of the bargain as well as reinforces the fact that Stahl is one nasty biatch.
Jimmy is headed to freedom with the Russians when they take a small detour straight to the Sons, who hand the Russians 2 million and take Jimmy in return. Jimmy is a straight up gangster who sees that his time has run out, straightens his jacket and head on over to SAMCRO, who put him in the back of a van and ride off into the sunset, or at least to the bottom of the hill where Tara is waiting for them with a different car. They put Jimmy in the trunk of the car and head off, with the Russians in hot pursuit, because the 2million they gave in exchange for Jimmy was counterfeit and the Russians are pizzed. The Sons race down hill where there is an ATF roadblock, the Sons ride through it but the Russians bang a u-turn and peace out. Stahl goes to the van that Jimmy is supposed to be in but…surprise, Jimmy’s not there. Stahl has a bit of a mental fit and goes off to get Jax, who tells her to where the Sons have Jimmy.
Stahl goes to the club with a warrant demanding to see Jimmy and when the Sons bring him out she takes him into custody which makes Clay ask how she knew they had Jimmy. She turn with that biatchy half grin and looking directly at Jax announces that their VP had cut a deal, which sets off a shizz storm. All the Sons go ballistic on Jax telling him they are going to kill him, as they are being cuffed and led into a paddy wagon. Gemma looks on in horror and I am truly surprised she did not shoot Stahl right there. The wagon with the Sons drives off with two prospects driving directly behind it.
We get a quick cut to a school bus with 4 members of SAMCRO driving in it and then it’s onto Unser in his office, where he takes off his badge leaves his Sheriff’s gun on the desk. He then takes out his personal gun and drives off only to pull Stahl and her agents over to tell them that some of Jimmy’s guys are up the road looking to take him back. Stahl stays behind with Unser and Jimmy and the other two agents drive off to see who is waiting for them. Unser lights up a joint and offers some to Stahl telling her she should really have a drag then pulls his gun on her as the school bus rolls up and Opie and Chibs get off. Chibs takes Jimmy slices his face in an eye for an eye type thing then kills him. Opie meanwhile, brings Stahl to a car has her sit in the front seat and tells her to put her hands on the wheel. Stahl begs him to stop and he tells her, “This is what she felt.”, and using the gun that killed Donna blasts two in the back of Stahl’s head. Kozik punch Unser on the side of his face he didn’t just have dental work on and rips up Jax’s confession while Chibs paints an IRA sign in Jimmy’s blood on the window of the car. This my friends is what you call poetic justice.
The two prospects behind the paddy wagon get a text, drive by the paddy wagon beeping their horns and Jax looks up and a smile breaks out across his and Clay’s faces as the rest of SAMCRO begins to laugh in the back. It has all been a set up by the Sons, they all knew about Jax’s deal with Stahl and now with all the members in the back of the wagon, they can’t be looked at for Jimmy and Stahl’s murder. The prospects then deliver letters to Gemma and Tara with the instructions to burn after reading them.
Gemma reads the letter with sheer delight, and we begin to see her admiration for the fact that Jax and Clay were able to pull this off. While Gemma basks in her proud mama glow, Tara has found John Teller’s letters to Maureen. Tara reads the letters and we get insight into what next season will bring, with John Teller’s voice telling us that Clay and Gemma were planning his death, so they could be together.
A few notables on this episode,
The music selection that played throughout this episode was nothing beyond phenomenal.
When did Jax let the club in on his deal with Stahl? I really think it was from the beginning, he was walking in and out of Stahl’s office while Clay was in the building last episode without a care in the world
I truly believe that Maureen and Father Ashby, who we never saw get whacked or let go, are out to bring Gemma and Clay down as retribution for John’s murder. That’s why in the last scene we hear, “I know my days are numbered Mo, when these letters stop, you can be certain my death will come at the hands of my wife and best friend.” We get to see that maybe Gemma is badder than we ever thought possible and Jax may have gotten his bad boy side from his mama and not his daddy like we have been led to believe.
