The Sons of Anarchy Season 3 finale is sure to be huge. All signs are that the Sons of Anarchy Season 3 finale will have some kind of game changing event, and a few big secrets revealed. However, predictions over what might happen may be far off base, considering recent history. Before the Season 2 ending aired, few figured out that Abel would be taken away from Jax, yet it happened while everyone was focused on Ethan Zoebelle. Now, the Season 3 Sons of Anarchy finale seeks to turn things around once again tonight.
Warning: Spoilers follow
To get Abel back, and to keep Gemma and SAMCRO safe, Jax had to make a deal with the devil – a.k.a. Agent Stahl. But it all hinges on bringing Jimmy O to Stahl alive, although SAMCRO stands to get big IRA business by killing him. After Jax was able to get Tara back last week, tonight’s focus will be on tying up that final loose end.
Of course, few expect the Sons of Anarchy Season 3 finale to tie that end up cleanly. It would likely be more shocking if Clay and SAMCRO didn’t discover Jax’s alliance, rather than if they did. But if/when the truth does come out, it would leave Jax and the show in a brand new position for next year.
The game has already changed in Charming, as Jax’s vengeance against Salazar guaranteed that Jacob Hale would go unexposed. Therefore, Hale, the county sheriffs, and new business interests are poised to make things difficult for the club next season. If another Jax-Clay civil war emerges after tonight, fighting all of that off will be even more difficult.
Prior to the Sons of Anarchy Season 3 finale, fans and critics have been more reluctant to embrace the show than they were last year. Season 2 set too much of a high bar, while this year has focused more on overseas trips, IRA power plays, and filling in mythological blanks.
Although most of the year was set on getting Abel back, that was settled with two episodes to go. Therefore, the final two weeks are set more on tying up subplots in Charming, and setting the stage for Season 4. Given the changes that are to come, and the ones that we may not see coming yet, hopes are still high that the bumps in the road this year will pay off.
Creator Kurt Sutter already told E! Online that the Sons of Anarchy Season 3 finale will “change Jax forever” Kristen dos Santos also teased that it must be seen multiple times, once the final twists are revealed. Another big SAMCRO split seems certain, but what else could leave fans on edge for the next several months?
The answers will come when Sons of Anarchy Season 3 comes to an end tonight, at 10 pm est on FX.
