Special effects and makeup have turned haunted houses into a real scream fest. These haunted attractions in Los Angeles feature scares around every corner. This October, check out one of these haunted houses in Los Angeles, California.
Old Town Haunt
Located in Old Town Pasadena, this haunted house has plenty of pop out scares and ghouls hiding in the scenery. There are scares around every corner. Between October 1st-28th, general admission is $14.00 and VIP tickets, with little or no waiting, are $19.00. The first two weeks, the old town haunt is open on Friday and Saturday from 7:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. On Sunday, the hours are shorter, 7:00-10:00 p.m. On October 15 and 16, the hours are from 7:00 p.m. to midnight. As Halloween approaches, the haunt is open more days. Check to see the schedule here. For kids 7-12, there are special matinee showings for $10.00 a person. This is not advised for young kids because it is too scary.
68 Cent Crew Haunted House
This haunted house is put on by the 68 Cent Crew theatre company. From October 24th to 31st, be prepared to be scared by a very theatrical haunted house. The event is open from 8:00 p.m. to 11 p.m. with an extended hour on Friday, Saturday and Halloween night. This fright fest costs $10.00 per person and visitors can get $1.00 off with a canned good. Tickets can be purchased at the door. This haunt can be found at 5419 Sunset Blvd in Los Angeles, Ca 90027.
This haunt takes place October 15-16, 22-23 and 29-30 from 6:00 to 9:30 p.m. in Newhall, Ca. To purchase tickets call Pat Saletore at (661) 254-1275. Last year, tickets were about $10. According to hollywoodgothique.com, this year’s haunt will include a walk-through haunted house, a haunted hayride, and several “scare zones.” There will also be a kid friendly event October 23, from 10:00am to 3:00pm. Some of the festivities include a pumpkin carving contest and daytime haunted hayride. There will also be animals from the Placerita Nature Center and Hart Park.
Haunted Hayride at Griffith Park
While this isn’t a true haunted house, it is one of the best haunted attractions in Los Angeles. The main event is the haunted hayride that takes people through the “old zoo’ forest on hay-filled wagon pulled by a tractor. See scary clowns and “mascots of death.” There’s also the Carnival of Souls with lots of fun rides and carnival food like hotdogs and candy apples. Additionally, take part in the haunted haymaze. This year on October 9, “Linda Blair” from the exorcist will be at the venue. The hayride is not recommended for children under eight. Tickets prices start at $22.00. Nightmare at Fairplex
This frightening event takes place at Fairplex, home of the Los Angeles County Fair. It includes five different “mazes” of terror. Each has a theme. There is the Bride of Pitchfork, Cleopatra’s Tomb, Transylvania Terror, Skull Island and Zombies of the Grave. This event takes place October 14-16, 21-23, 28-30 and October 31 from 7:00 to 11:00 p.m. It is not recommended for children ages 12 and under. Tickets cost $15.00 and can be purchased here. The Fairplex is located at 1101 W. Ave Pomona, CA.
