The Spring-Summer 2011 fashion circuit was buzzing with bright colors and bold prints, loosened up styles and even some vintage clothing. As the spring wedding season approaches, the choices of wedding guests will trend toward these fun new styles, for better or for worse.
Trend #1 – Mandarin
The color is bright and bold, and doesn’t quite look good on everyone, but it will probably make an appearance at nearly every spring wedding next season. Mandarin or tangerine colors are popping up in prom dress stores, wedding boutiques, and even Macy’s. This gorgeous dress from Prom Girl online is a great example of a classic-styled dress in this bold, brilliant color.
Trend #2 – Garden Prints
If the bring orange tones weren’t enough to get your attention, garden prints are in style and the bigger, the better. Evening gowns, casual wear, and even handbags are taking this pattern seriously, with bright and bold colors as the main objective. The Outnet has a few great selections, including this understated garden-print crepe dress from Zac Posen.
Trend #3 – Midi Skirts
Mini skirts are officially history in Spring 2011, so you’ll see a lot more mid-range hemlines hitting the wedding dance floor next season. Skirts should hit closer to the knee, say fashion watchers at FashionStyleMe.com, and this sultry red number from Lauren by Ralph Lauren is just the thing. It’s bold in color, simple in style, and sits at just the right place on the leg.
Trend #4 – Lace
The vintage look of lace is making a comeback this Spring season, but its getting a modern update. This is not your grandmother’s lace, ladies, but something sexier, sultrier. A gorgeous black lace cocktail dress by Donna Morgan, available at Nordstrom’s, is the perfect alternative to frumpy, dumpy looking lace.
Trend #5 – One Shoulder Dress
This fashion has been around for a few seasons now, but will definitely continue to grow in popularity into the Spring 2011 season. With more retailers offering this style as an option, it’s bound to be seen on and around the altar on guests and bridesmaids alike. Some brides might even be sporting it, too! A great example is this sleek black one-shoulder with bow by Jessica Simpson.
Whatever trend you choose to follow, there are plenty of dresses out there for every style and personal taste! Wear something you’re comfortable in, that works with your own shape.
