This article will serve as a walkthrough for the Dawn of War II mission ‘Stand With Your Brothers’. Stand With Your Brothers is the first mission in Dawn of War II, introducing the player to the planet of Calderis, where the Blood Raven Space Marines draw their recruits from. The Orks are threatening to overrun the sector however, and the player is introduced as a newly promoted Commander who will be the weight that shifts the balance in the Space Marine’s favor. Stand With Your Brothers in Dawn of War II takes place on the planet Calderis, and will pit the player against Ork forces.

Stand With Your Brothers in Dawn of War II starts with Davian Thule fighting a massive horde of Ork attackers from atop a hill to the north, leading a band of Space Marine Scouts that occupy the trenches around him. Tarkus with his squad of Tactical Marines and the Force Commander are dropped to the south, tasked with moving north to liberate the defending Space Marines in Stand With Your Brothers.
It’s always important to stick to cover in Dawn of War II, especially on the harder difficulties. As the squad of marines under my control move up, the Tactical Marines are used to fire from the rocks while the Force Commander uses his abilities to charge and disrupt the Ork squads of Boy with shootas and sluggas with choppas.
After clearing out the handful of squads that attack on the way to Davian Thule in Stand With Your Brothers it’s time to liberate the Commander and his forces. Reaching the main engagement, the Tactical Marines use cover to advance from the Ork’s flank while the Force Commander waits until the Orks group together tightly, before using his charge ability to damage and disrupt a large mass of Orks by the trench entrance. Helping the Scout Marines stay alive through the use of a healing pack is beneficial by keeping them distracting the Orks. There are also some Stikbomba Orks mixed into this attack group.
After clearing the attacking Orks, Davian Thule tasks my squads with moving to the East to stop the next Ork Wave. At the next waypoint there is a barrier to set the Marines up behind while they fire at the Ork Trukk that breaks through the wall to the north, before dropping several squads of Ork Slugga Boyz out it’s hatch along with a Mekboy. Killing the boyz causes the Mekboy and Trukk to flee to the north, and through a tunnel causing them to leave the map. Upon their retreat, a few more Slugga Boyz come through the wall the Trukk originally broke through.
Moving up to the next area reaching the tunnel entrance, several squads of Slugga Boyz come through the tunnel which a grenade serves as useful to quickly eliminate. Tarkus informs me of his ability to also grenade the tower occupied with Orks nearby. I tell him to send one flying into the window of the tower, eliminating that threat. Once this area is cleared, it’s time to send a grenade or just shoot the barrels next to the tunnel entrance to cause it to collapse, ending this mission.
