This StarCraft 2 unit guide will cover the Terran Fusion Core building. The Fusion Core in StarCraft 2: Wings of Liberty serves the sole purpose of unlocking the Battlecruiser, in both the campaign and melee modes of the game. In melee the Fusion Core is also capable of researching upgrades relevant to the Battlecruiser for Terran players. The Fusion Core is new to StarCraft 2 replacing the Science Facility and Physics Lab that was required to build and research Battlecruiser tech in the original game. Take care when placing the Fusion Core, as it is incapable of lifting off, like the Science Facility previously had been.
The Fusion Core is first available in the StarCraft 2: Wings of Liberty campaign mission ‘Maw of the Void’
