This StarCraft 2 unit guide will cover the Terran Supply Depot building. The Terran Supply Depot is one of the most essential buildings, being the main provider of supply for unit production, second only to the small amount of supply given by Command Centers and their variants. Supply Depots are relatively cheap, but care should be taken to start building new depots, if your supply is reaching its limit, since the time to build new ones can set you back in a fast paced game where the ability to constantly produce is paramount. In the StarCraft 2: Wings of Liberty campaign, they can be upgraded through the tech tree to be built almost instantly, being dropped from space.
The Terran Supply Depot is first used in the StarCraft 2: Wings of Liberty campaign mission ‘The Outlaws’
New in StarCraft 2 is the ability for supply depots to be lowered to below ground level, allowing other units to easily walk over them. This can be great later in the game when masses of supply depots end up messing up pathing within your base, while still being able to be raised for barrier purposes. In addition to this, the Orbital Command has an ability to upgrade Supply Depots, doubling their supply output with the only cost being energy.
