Starcraft 2: Wings of Liberty Terran Units: Spectre

by bogbit

This StarCraft 2 unit guide will cover the Terran Spectre unit. The Spectre is a brand new unit in StarCraft 2: Wings of Liberty available only in the campaign if the player chooses to side with Tosh over Nova, and help break the Spectre’s out of New Folsom prison. The Spectres are Ghosts that have had their psionic powers enhanced by the rare terrazine gas. Spectres are more suited to take on armored and massive units than their Ghost counterparts, and come with some different abilities, but also retain some of the same. The Terran dominion considers Spectres a threat, and has been working to imprison and deactivate those still active.

The Spectre is unlocked in the StarCraft 2: Wings of Liberty mission ‘Breakout’

Spectres are effective against armored units, such as Marauders and Ultralisk although show their weakness against massed Zerg units. If free from detection, and outfitted with the permanent cloak upgrade however, they can attack unharmed, negating any drawbacks they might otherwise have. Medics can help increase the Spectre’s longevity.
