This StarCraft 2 unit guide will cover the Terran Vulture unit. The Vulture makes its return from the Original StarCraft as a campaign only unit in Wings of Liberty. The Vulture is produced from a Factory without needing a Tech Lab meaning it can be dual produced with an attached Reactor, and comes with a fast speed (the same as the Hellion) and a Fragmentation Grenade Launcher effective against light armored units. The Vulture and Firebat have both been replaced in functionality in melee by the Terran Hellion.
The Vulture is unlocked in the StarCraft 2: Wings of Liberty campaign mission ‘Cutthroat’.
Terran Vultures are strong against light armored units, but are less adept at handling groups of units with the lack of an aoe attack, and more suited versus single Marines, Zealots and Zerglings since the Fragmentation Grenade does higher damage to a single target than the Infernal Flamethrower, and the Vulture can be micromanaged to stay at range. The Vulture is considered weak against armored high damage ranged units like the Roach, Siege Tank and Colossus.
