According to the US Consumer Product Safety Commission and Health Canada, Step2 Company, of Streetsboro, OH, has voluntarily recalled one of their products. This recall was released September 7, 2010.
What is being recalled?
Approximately 64,000 Transportation Station toys are included in this recall; 56,000 units in the US and 7,700 units in Canada.
What’s the problem?
Although no injuries have been reported as of release time, the plastic wheels on the cars of the train can come off. If this happens, children could choke on them.
Which specific toys are involved in this recall?
The Step2 Sand and Water Transportation Station is involved in this recall. This toy stands on the floor with 3 legs and is for children 2 and up. The components that make up the toy station are a round blue plastic table, train tracks, train cars in blue, red, and yellow, toy sailboats, and a combination hand rake and shovel. The light blue plastic wheels are at risk of detaching from the train cars, while the grey wheels are not involved in this recall. The toys were manufactured in the US and sold from December 2008 through June 2010. They were available at major retailers, such as Target, as well as specialty stores and online. They cost between $49 and $59.
