As a child, one the most exciting events on Christmas was sticking my little hand into my stocking and pulling out some sort of treasure. Stocking stuffers do not have to be extravagant nor do they have to be expensive. Toddlers will take delight in these inexpensive stocking stuffers. Several small stocking stuffers are fun because there is more to take out.
Typically, one can get a jar of play dough for under a dollar. Look at the Dollar Store, Walmart and Target for good deals. If you have several younger children to get stocking stuffers for, consider getting the party favor play dough. These come in packages and are relatively small. Consider putting two in each child’s stocking. Get a ten count party pack for $5.99 at partycity.com.
Go to the Target dollar spot and look for board books. Typically, they have a good selection of small books for just a dollar. Other good bets are the Little Miss and Mr. books. Choose from titles like Little Miss Bossy or Mr. Messy. Toddlers will love these bright illustrations. Get these for between $2.95 and $3.99 at landofnod.com.
Bath Squirt Toys
Usually, you can buy bath squirt toys in a package. Look around and find a ten-pack or bath toys and each one costs under a dollar. Munchkin Squirtin Sea Buddies Bath Toys are a good pick. Get them at amazon.com and many other stores.
Crayons are always fun for kids. For something special, consider getting glitter crayons or bathtub crayons. A sixteen-count Crayola glitter crayon package costs about $2.00. For a complete package, get a small activity book or coloring book to put in the stocking too.
Often times, you can find mittens for less than a dollar at Target or Walmart. In fact, not too long ago I got a package of two pairs of mittens at Walmart for one dollar. Look in the accessories department in the children’s section.
Remember that most toddlers still put a lot of things in their mouths. Therefore, make sure that the toy cannot pass through a toilet paper roll or else it is a choking hazard. Small bouncing balls, hard candy and nuts are all stocking stuffers to avoid.
