So it is racist if Glenn Beck said he thought Obama was a racist toward white people? If it is, then isn’t the entire NAACP “racist?” I mean that is what they do…it is their whole purpose in modern life regardless of whatever principles they might have been founded upon 100 years ago. They spend their days accusing folks of racism, so if Beck is a racist for his utterance, so too is the NAACP, Sharpton, Jesse and sundry other black leaders. Think about it…fair is fair, or has PC actually totally buried common sense?
For the record, Beck DID say he thought Obama was “racist toward white people.” He then recently recanted that and clarified that perhaps he is just a true Black Liberation Theology type, which could indeed make one appear racist, a la Rev. Wright. Not excusing Beck, just setting the record straight.
Setting the record straight is needed because of some interviews that were presented on the Tea Party Tracker .org site, a site dedicated, as they claim, “monitors racism and other forms of extremism within the Tea Party movement. We call on the Tea Party to repudiate extremists among their ranks and join in civil dialogue with all Americans.”
A reporter is shown in a 13 minute video on Tea Party Tracker .org interviewing various attendees to the Restoring Honor Rally last Saturday. A few of those interviewed claim they did not know Glenn Beck pronounced Obama a racist. Fine. In a group of 400K plus there will be many who are not the best representatives of any identifiable group. I mean, are all blacks racist because of the actions of the New Black Panther Party, who are clearly racists? No? But find a few ill informed white folks and that is sure proof of racism? Gee, more of the infamous progressive double standard, huh? Nice!
So Tea Party Tracker .org asks some folks if they agree with Beck that Obama is a racist, as Beck DID claim, but since recanted, and some of those asked did not know Beck made that claim about 4 or 5 months ago.
The entire crux and point is Tea Party Tracker .org is using the lack of factual knowledge by some of the Restoring Honor Rally attendees as proof of evil intent and pure ignorance of Tea Party type folks. Again, is this how we are going to play the game? By the rules of media and race baiters trying to protect their Democrat backsides live by?
For the record, I DISAGREE with that line of positioning. Am I clear? But one uninformed or not well spoken Tea Party type indicts all Tea Party folks. Like I said, good for the goose. Don’t play that “Since black people were the oppressed,” or as Jesse put it, “had no power, they can’t be racist.” What a position of entitlement.
My overall point is the Tea Party Tracker outfit – aligned with the NAACP – is endeavoring to argue that the 400K plus Restoring Honor Rally folks hate blacks.
The Tea Party Tracker .org falsely portrays the “We want to take our country back” and the “return this nation to how it used to be” mantras as meaning “we want Jim Crow to return.” THAT IS BS and anyone who reads this knows that. If they do not, the ignorant naysayer is the one with the problem.
The mantra of “returning this nation to the way it used to be” is NOT about Jim Crow, slavery or anything that stupid and those leveling such a position know they are lying through their teeth, but for the sake of politics naysayers and race baiters will use that one ad infinitum. Truth is the first victim in war and politics.
Instead, the “returning this nation to the way it used to be” is about returning us to the Founding principles; small government; citizen legislators; honesty and morals taking precedence over political party crap; and most of all and end to divisive politics and specifically divisive racial politics. And YES, and end to Barack Obama’s power and progressive agenda. Is that a crime? Is it racist? To want to toss out progressive leadership so Obama can no longer turn us to the progressive Utopia he and his huge Democrat Congressional caucus envisions.
I predict come November the “new racial divisions” – those that have appeared since Obama became president, the false allegation that to disagree with Obama is an act of racism, will only get worse. Democrats will not man up and admit their progressive agenda is the issue. They will not likely admit their agenda has been soundly rejected by the vast majorities, so instead to placate their souls, they insist it has to be racism. Can’t be the citizen rejection of their ideology, right?
The Restoring Honor Rally was not about politics – well, not directly anyway. Not one single mention of politics or party was mentioned. Of course the late to appear Al Sharpton Rally at Dunbar High School was indeed all about racial politics, so . . . who is it again guilty of politics of division and racial identity?
The end effort is the zero sum game versus the non-zero sum game. In the zero sum game, there has to be a winner and a loser. Blacks USED to be second class citizens for sure. In the zero sum game, they are pitted against white people, and for blacks to win the zero sum game, they must win and whites must lose. That IS NOT Dr. King’s dream.
Dr; King’s dream was the NON zero sum result where we all, or at least as many as will participate, can win too. Dr. King did not think that for black folks to be treated equally and with dignity they had to “defeat” white people, but THAT IS the entire positioning of Black Liberation Theology. That white folks were the oppressors, thus for justice to be done, black folks must now be on top.
As long as the zero sum result is what will be considered victory for formerly oppressed black people, the misery and racial division will continue. I do not owe anyone anything, and if I am approached as if I do owe someone something for an ancient and world wide human frailty – racism, I will fight against it and those that forward it.
Racism is a human frailty. All humans have the potential for it. Racism is NOT an institutional condition in this nation as black nationalists and race baiters forward. The Tutsis and Hutus killed each other with reckless racial hatred, and they are all black, so it ain’t white folks bad, black folks good. Get over that stupid and childish position. That there are white and black racists just is the fact of the matter, but some black racists is not sufficient to label all blacks racist, is it? And if not, then how can the existence of white racists label all whites as such?
It’s politics and if one cannot separate political tools from human realities, it is they with the problem, not me. And for the record, I want my nation back to the way it was Founded, and not some vague version of Karl Marx’s vision of human society. Progressivism is a zero sum game, and they ARE NOT the ideals upon which this nation was Founded. Read the documents and see it was about EVERYONE being a winner, if they wanted to be. We can all share in the nation’s bounty, but not if some insist for fairness to the formerly oppressed, someone must win and someone must lose to balance the scales. That is the entire position of Black Liberation Theology – that since blacks were losers, for fairness to emerge, now whites must be the losers to make it all equal in the end. BS!
