The Wonders of Garlic
Garlic helps lower your cholesterol and lower your blood pressure. It helps ward off cancer and it kills bacteria. Doesn’t it make sense to work a clove or two or three into as many meals as possible? Here’s a wonderful tasty recipe that’s very healthy. Serve this and you can impress your friends.
Here are the ingredients:
6 cloves garlic (more the better)
4 skinless, boneless chicken breasts
Salt and pepper to taste
¾ pound of sliced, fresh mushrooms
2 tablespoons of all-purpose flour
2 tablespoons olive oil.
¼ cup balsamic vinegar
1 cup chicken broth
1 bay leaf
¼ teaspoon thyme
1 tablespoon butter
Begin by seasoning the chicken with salt and pepper. Watch the salt if you are on a salt-free diet Rinse the mushrooms and pat dry. Season the flour with salt and pepper. Next, dredge the chicken breasts in the flour.
In a skillet, heat the oil and sauté the chicken for about three minutes or until it is browned on one side. Then add the garlic and turn the chicken breasts and cover with the mushrooms.
Continue frying and remember to shake the skillet and stir the mushrooms. Cook for about three minutes. Then add the vinegar, broth, thyme and bay leaf. Now cover tightly and simmer over a low heat for about 10 minutes to let the flavors mix. Remember to keep stirring.
Take out the chicken and place on a warm serving platter. Set aside. Continue simmering the sauce, uncovered, over medium high heat for about seven minutes. Swirl in the butter or margarine and discard the bay leave. When done, pour the sauce over the chicken and serve.
The final step is to enjoy.
