Taylor Lautner is more well-known as a hunky werewolf and one of the world’s biggest teen celebs than he is for his charity work, but a recent lawsuit that made headlines might make him feel a little more giving.
Taylor Lautner: Diva?
Taylor Lautner fans might have been a bit worried when they heard that the Twilight star was suing an RV company for failing to deliver a trailer to him, especially when he cited “emotional distress” as the reason for the lawsuit. However, it looks like there wasn’t really any diva behavior going on at all; Taylor Lautner simply checked a box on a fraudulent claim form, wanting to ensure that the RV company was held accountable for their actions.
Taylor Lautner’s Missing RV a Big Gain for Charity
It looks like Taylor Lautner was in the right, since he won the lawsuit, and he managed to turn his image right back around by donating the $40,000 settlement to a charity near and dear to his heart, The Lollipop Theater Network. The charity gives hospitalized kids and their families the opportunity to see first-run movies that they can’t go watch in theaters (so perhaps Jacob Black will brighten a few more lives when the first part of Breaking Dawn hits theaters next year).
In the past, Taylor Lautner has also accepted a $100,000.00 check from CVS on behalf of The Lollipop Network. The star told Access Hollywood that he loves seeing how the charity’s work makes kids smile and that he has a lot of fun working with the organization.
Taylor Lautner’s Other Charity Work
Taylor Lautner looks like he’s well on his way to becoming a force of good when it comes to his charity work. Last year he found a great way to get the message across that he cares: by auctioning off a messenger bag of his own design in order to benefit Books for Kids, an organization that partners with literacy programs, donates books, and helps to build libraries (So it looks like he’s also making sure all Twilight fans can fall in love with Jacob Black through the books, as well).
An appearance Taylor Lautner made alongside costar Kristen Stewart at a special screening of New Moon last year in Knoxville, Tennessee also helped to raise a whopping $440,000.00 for the Variety of Eastern Tennessee charity. So if all Taylor Lautner has to do to make a difference is take a walk down a red carpet, the world better hope that he’s working out werewolf-style and getting those legs ready to do a lot more walking.
So as if he didn’t make his fans swoon enough, it looks like they might see more do-gooding from Taylor Lautner in the future after all the publicity the RV incident and charity donation earned the young star. He may not need the extra attention, but it would be great to see him continue to use it to help those in need.
