A stunning development came in Entertainment News this week, as Country sensation Taylor Swift announced plans for a new album. Based upon the model, and undeniable success, of industry crossovers Kid Rock, Darius Rucker, and now Gwyneth Paltrow, Swift says the new release will be a Country album.
At a press conference to mark the announcement, one reporter wondered with Taylor’s current success as a Country artist, whether it is necessary to reinvent herself within her own genre. Heavy with emotion, Miss Swift cited the disrespect shown her at this year’s CMA Awards.
Though nominated for several awards, and even invited to perform, Swift observed, “Yeah, but just the one song.”
Standing outside the press room, Social Media uber-fixture, Usher, applauded the move. Despite not being asked, Usher stated his willingness and availability for collaboration on the new project.
Preliminary song titles were released, which again, bear evidence of the Kid-Rock example. Standouts include: “Got that Lynyrd Skynyrd Song in My Head,” “Lynyrd Skynyrd Riffs: A Tribute,” and “Let’s All Sing, ‘Sweet Home Alabama.'”
Swift says she has not decided upon a title for the new album, but indicated it would reflect the spirit of the entire project, i.e., SEO and timely promotion. The word from Miss Swift’s marketing group, the title “Justin Bieber” is recieving serious consideration.
