Thanksgiving Day is the official start of the holiday season. Thanksgiving Day TV Highlights 2010:
9 AM – Noon (all time zones): The 84th Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade will be aired live by NBC. The annual parade features giant balloons of classic characters like Snoopy, Kermit the Frog, and Spongebob. This year’s program will include performances from stars like teen idol Miranda Cosgrove, Jessica Simpson, and Kanye West.
12 PM (all time zones): Following the parade will be everyone’s favorite National Dog Show hosted by the American Kennel Club. This is one of the most important dog shows in the United States, showcasing the country’s best canines. The event will be broadcast by NBC.
12:30 PM (ET): The first of three football games pits the Detroit Lions against the New England Patriots. CBS Sports will carry the game live.
4:15 PM (ET): The second football game is between America’s darling Dallas Cowboys and defending champion New Orleans Saints. FOX channel will broadcast this game.
8:20 PM (ET): The final game of the Thanksgiving Day tripleheader pits the New York Jets against the Cincinnati Bengals. Tune in to the NFL Network for this exciting game.
8-9 PM (ET): The classic “A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving” returns to ABC primetime for the 37th year. Will Charlie Brown ever be able to trust Lucy again?
8-10 PM (ET): The Simpsons Movie makes its broadcast premiere on FOX to cap off the night.
