The Detroit Lions have lost their seventh straight Thanksgiving game, this time under the hands of the New England Patriots.
With quarterback Tom Brady leading the charge, the Patriots ended the game with 45-24 on the scoreboard. He also made four touchdown passes in the second half, a season-high for one of the most favorite NFL spread picks we have today.
The win keeps the Patriots on top of the NFL standings, tied with the New York Jets. The two teams will face each other on December 6.
Meanwhile, in Arlington, Texas, Drew Brees of the New Orlean Saints lifted his team past the Dallas Cowboys in a 30-27 victory. With only 1:55 left in the game, he made a 12-yard touchdown pass to Lance Moore which helped sealed their win.
The game was Cowboys interim coach Jason Garrett’s first loss in three games. He took over the team on November 8, after Wade Phillips was axed because of spearheading a team that started with a 1-7 record.
At this point, in the NFC East, the Cowboys are 4 ½ games behind division leader Philadelphia Eagles, which hold a 7-3 win-loss card.
