Waiting is one of the most agonizing experiences that I encounter with God. Waiting produces agony and agony produces acute mental pain that will eventually be felt physically. God allows us to encounter difficulties and hardships that actually refine and purify us that we may be able to reflect His image in our daily lives. The purifying is painful because it stretches our faith to the limit and drains all of our spiritual and physical strength but God has promised that if we wait on Him our strength would be renewed and we would not faint. (Isa. 40:31) The agony is only for the night but joy comes in the morning. (Ps. 30:5c) The purpose of our adversary is to rob us of the security and assurance that we have in resting in God and kill our joy. (Jn. 10:10a) He will try anything to make us walk away from God by bringing things our way to make it appear that God no longer cares for us or that He can not deliver on His promise to protect us to protect us from. The devil can only buffet us as much as God allows him to. When God allows us to come the red sea with the enemy closing in on us we must do as Moses instructed Israelites to do and that was to, ” Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the LORD, “ (Exodus 141:13a) KJV. For us humans being still an doing nothing is one of the hardest things for us to do. God is a right now God but many times He is not in a hurry because it takes time to purify us humans. When He deems it necessary He will work right now but the devil will try and hinder God’s blessing hoping that discouragement and doubt will set in and we will give up. He knows that God has promised to bless us when we are doing good and waiting on his due season for us if we don’t give up (Cal. 6:9)
When we hang in there we will receive the Joy of the Blessing of The Lord knowing that our labor was not in vain. “We are hard pressed on every side, but not crushed; perplexed, but not in despair;
persecuted, but not abandoned; struck down, but not destroyed.; Therefore, my dear brothers, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain..” (II Cor. 4:8-9, I Cor. 15:58) NIV. The Joy is in always knowing that God was trustworthy as we enjoy the relief the blessing brings. It’s similar to an expecting mother. The pains of labor are always rewarded with precious new life. The immediate joy is always praiseworthy but our future joy is incomprehensible (I Cor. 2:9) NIV “However, as it is written: “No eye has seen, no ear has heard, no mind has conceived what God has prepared for those who love him.”
Beware: Because we are Gods image the enemy will attack us again after the victory . The ultimate goal of Satan is to destroy God so he will try to destroy as many of His off springs as he can.
