I have at least 6 hair spray bottles full of equal parts vinegar (regular vinegar) and water in various parts of my house. Why? Because this stuff is simply AWESOME in its ability to quickly eradicate immediately atrocious odors, from a dog blasting a fart in your face (and then leaving the room), to a cat crapping turds bigger than they are just as you sit down to dinner. A quick spray and you’re good to go.
Vinegar is perhaps the miracle odor-absorbing product. Mixed with equal parts water, when you spray the solution in the air, it immediately makes the gag-orific smell go away, and the vinegar smell itself fades within a few minutes. You can spray your cat’s litter box as soon as they take a huge, fibrous crap, you can spray all over the bathroom as soon as you take your own huge, fibrous crap (it far exceeds the classic lighting of a match), and you can follow your dog around spraying behind them as they let out greasy farts that chase them out of the room but leave you gasping for air in their wake.
Keep a bottle of vinegar water in various rooms of your house. I have one in the living room, one next to the litter box, one in the bathroom, one in the kitchen, and one in my car. My goodness, these bottles come in handy. I spray the kitchen with abandon when my fiance cooks up beef liver (or basically any meat product) to eliminate cooking odors, I spray right after the cat leaves us a present in her litter box, I spray when my dog blasts yet another fart in my face as she leaves the room (to go blast up my bedroom as well), I spray in my car when I have fast food or people smoking in my car, and I spray just because I feel like it.
The vinegar and water spray does not harm your carpet or furniture, at least not that I have noticed. You can add an essential oil if you want to leave behind a pleasant scent, like citrus, vanilla, lavender, or cinnamon, etc. Just add 10 drops per bottle. Remember, the vinegar scent will fade, so you won’t smell that, but if you put an oil in there it will remain after the vinegar dries, leaving your home even nicer. Just don’t squirt the vinegar and water concoction in your face, because it burns like the dickens, but otherwise you could drink the stuff and cause no harm (so long as you added no additional “smell goods” to it).
Vinegar and water sprays are super handy for the whole house, and a definite lifesaver for immediate odors without caking your house in deodorizing sprays. Perfect for people with allergies, sensitive gag reflexes, and pet homes to manage odors without overdoing it.
