Cathy Jamison is played by Laura Linney who discovers she has terminal melanoma. Is in his room while he is trying to sleep and he wakes up to a terrible smell. It is the sofa which Cathy has always hated in the back yard in the hole being dug for the pool.
While she is weighing in her student Andrea discussing bikinis, Andrea mentioned Naked Nancy. Confused, Andrea takes Cathy on the school roof and they look down to see a nude lady sunbathing. Coincidentally, while they are up there, she sees one of the maintenance men “checking the air conditioning — ” He quickly zips up and runs down the stairs.
Her husband Paul comes over to see how she is and they decide that they need therapy.
Her crazy brother is in a parking lot with a megaphone shouting to SUV’s how they are destroying the universe and she stops by to give him some clothes. Andrea walks by eating a bag of chips and she calls her over. Sean starts to give Andrea lip about her size and she calls him Jesus. Sean announces to Andrea that Cathy would be embarrassed to admit it, but he is her brother. Andrea is surprised that Jesus is Cathy’s brother and Cathy gives her ten dollars for the half eaten bag of chips. Sean takes them from Cathy and Andrea mentions that he eats garbage.
Cathy tells her son that he cannot go to soccer camp for the six weeks he is supposed to be away. He is very angry with her, but she tells him that he cannot be away from her because she has plans for them. Cathy is home sunbathing in the yard — nude when Paul arrives and tells her that he dropped Adam off at the bus for soccer camp.
Cathy leaves immediately and sees Andrea on the way. She asks her to drive the car and she attacks the school bus with a paint ball gun. She then enters the bus and demands that her son get off the bus. He refuses and Andrea is behind her with the paint ball gun and shoots Adam. He finally leaves the bus.
Later that night he is asleep and the episode ends as she puts down a pillow and lays on the floor next to his bed for the night.
