The Biggest Loser: After Allie got eliminated on the September 28th episode, it appeared that the women might have a rough time beating the men this season.
I should have went home: After begging to stay last week, Tina admitted tonight that she wanted to quit! The other players (and me too) thought this was selfish for her to leave after just sending home another contestant. This won’t go over well with Bob and Jillian either. Why did she want to quit? Apparently Tina drained her 401k to take her family on a vacation and I guess she’d rather go on vacation then get healthy. Lisa suddenly started saying she was ready to go home to help Allie because she didn’t believe Allie could do it on her own. I guess she didn’t read Allie’s update last week to see how well she’s been doing :)
Tina didn’t want to tell Bob what happened so someone else finally shouted it out. Bob Harper, of course, told all of them that they are not ready to go home and they shouldn’t take the show for granted. Lucky for the contestants, Jillian was nowhere to be found because she would have gone NUTS hearing this from Tina and Lisa.
Every workout is a Last Chance Workout: Because of the surprise timing of the weigh in last episode, Bob knew that this season was going to be unpredictable and he decided to push the contestants to their limit at EVERY workout. Some of the contestants saw this as an opportunity to weed out the weaklings. Bob really started to pile it on Jesse causing Jesse to snap a comment, which wasn’t really all that bad, but Bob took it badly and started piling it on even more. Jesse felt very bad about being disrespectful so I can tell he’s not really a bad guy.
Girl Power: Jillian returned from wherever she was hiding and pulled the women aside to try and figure out why all but one girl fell below the yellow line last week. She wanted to push the women so they wouldn’t let it “be a jock fest“.
Anna Kournikova: Tonight’s episode featured an appearance from famous Tennis Player, Anna Kournikova, who led them in a tennis themed workout. This lead to the tennis themed challenge which had players trying to eliminate each other by filling up other players tubes with tennis balls the fastest. It actually seemed like an easy challenge where they just ran up and down a few steps with one ball at a time – but for these overweight contestant this was a tough challenge. Brendon stated he wouldn’t be trying to eliminate Frado or Patrick so it’s obvious they have some kind of alliance. Tina was targeted early on and therefore the first one out of the challenge.
The girls thought they could eliminate the guys first, but Burgandy, Sophia, Ada and Lisa were all out back to back. Finally Aaron then Adam were out for the men. Elizabeth was out next right before Rick, Mark and Jessica. After Jesse was eliminated it was down to the alliance of Brendon, Frado and Patrick. Frado managed to beat out the other two and won immunity.
The Weigh In: Once again half the contestants would fall below the yellow line. At the weigh in Frado was safe, but all the others were up for elimination. The girls were fighting to stay this week after a poor showing last week. See the stats below to see how the following fell below the yellow line: Burgandy, Elizabeth, Aaron, Tina, Lisa, Sophia, and Brendon. Ada was safe again but this time she wasn’t the only women safe as Jessica was above the line as well.
With Adam having the highest percentage of weight loss, he could save one player. Would he choose a man? Probably! Lisa still tried to plead her case by telling Adam how badly she needs to be here. But before he had to decide – it was time for even more working out. This season is confusing! Jillian and Bob both wanted to put the pressure on Aaron stating he should be near the top each week. Conscious of the challenge that was coming up, the trainers didn’t want to overwork the contestants too much… but they still worked them quite hard!
Save yourself: Adam decided to save Aaron based on the fact that he knew Aaron wasn’t ready to go home yet. Now it was down to Brendon and the five women trying to save themselves. The contest had them digging through sandboxes looking for 4 brass rings. But before the challenge started they dropped 175 tons of sand on top of the sandboxes. Yikes!! Elizabeth found the first ring 6 minutes into the challenge. 20+ minutes in Brendon uncovered the second ring but Sophia grabbed it first. Brendon found the 3rd ring after almost an hour of digging. About 70 minutes in Burgandy found the last ring meaning Tina and Lisa would be up for the vote.
The vote: It’s ironic that it came down to the two people who both said earlier in the episode that they wanted to go home. Lisa has since changed her mind about all that and pleaded that now she has her head in the game and she knows she has to be here. Brendon wasn’t buying it though. Tina’s plea was weak basically saying she doesn’t want them to think she is a quitter but “it’s up to you”. So basically she sounded like she was just waiting for them to send her home. Tina received 5 votes right off the bat and she didn’t even look upset. The voters decided that Lisa had a revelation this week and realized she needed to stay whereas Tina obviously wanted to go.
Tina’s Update: Tina showed that she now weighs 205 pounds, which was 58 pounds down from her original starting weight. Her real motivation was her daughter who was also overweight. Her daughter lost 85 pounds by working out alongside her mom. So maybe Tina did know what was best for her by wanting to go home!
