One of the best places to stay at Walt Disney World Resort is The Cabins at Fort Wilderness Resort. Since the cabins can sleep up to six guests, it is a great place for a family vacation. The resort is full of family fun.
The setting is in the woods. Located on 750 acres, there are deer, rabbits and ducks that roam free. You never know what wildlife you will spot.
There are lots of ways to get around the campgrounds. You can rent a Segway, electric cart or bike. One thing that you must do is take a carriage ride. The carriage rides are thirty minutes long. You will be able to relax and enjoy a beautiful ride along the Sassagoula River. In October, there is a carriage ride inspired by Sleepy Hollow that is haunted.
The Cabins at Fort Wilderness Resort offer plenty of outdoor fun, too. Horseback riding and pony rides are available Tri-Circle-D Ranch and Farm. Archery, basketball, horseshoes and other activities are available to do. An arcade is located in the Pioneer Hall and Meadow Recreation Area. There is a parade every night that is full of water creatures.
You can play on the beach at Bay Lake Beach. Or you can rent a watercraft. If you want to learn how to waterski, there are lessons available. You can even try to catch some fish at the marina. Of course, you have to release them back into the water. There are two swimming pools. The Meadow Swimmin’ Hole has a hot tub and slide. You can even watch movies at night by the beach or pool.
Although the cabins do have completely equipped kitchens, there are plenty of other options for dining. Crockett’s Tavern is full of American favorites. The rustic Trail’s End Restaurant has some great classics available. If you want some entertainment with your meal, try Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue or Mickey’s Backyard BBQ. At the Hoop-Dee-Doo Musical Revue, you will be served family style. It has a Wild West show with singing, dancing and comedy. At Mickey’s Backyard BBQ, you will enjoy all-you-can-eat BBQ. It is a fun show with lots of music and old tricks.
The cabins are comfortable with heat and air conditioning. If you want to prepare a meal, the kitchen has everything you need. The dining table has room for six. The patio has a grill and picnic table. Although you probably won’t watch it much, there is a TV with DVD and VCR.
The Cabins at Fort Wilderness Resort really are a vacation all on their own. Remember, you still have the Walt Disney World Resort to explore, too.
