The Iraq/Afghan war has cost me, you and the rest of the citizens of this country $1.1 trillion dollars. That sounds like a big number, well lets looks at just how big.
It makes a stack of $20 bills over 3,000 miles high, it equals a refund of $3,271 to every American citizen, it would provide full time jobs to 2.8 million people at minimum wage for 23 years. It would pay for all foreclosed homes in 2007 and 2008, pay for 8.2 million students to go to college for 4 years.
Yeah it’s a lot of money, and non of this money was ever budgeted and we are saddled with the debt, in fact it’s 8% of our current national debt, yeah 8% that’s how big a bill this war is. And its not done yet, this web site shows the running tab for the war http://costofwar.com/ in real time so everyone can see just how much we are spending on these wars.
I want to send out a warm Thank You to the Republican Party and especially President Bush for this little gem of a bill, and the fallout from the worst President in history will continue for decades to come. And how do you and I get to pay for a failed government, one that passed a Health Care Reform Bill that gives the Health Care industry millions of new customers to gouge, one that its politicians both Democrat and Republican are far more interested in attacking each other than doing anything for the people who elected them?
We get taxed more and the few deductions we had are going to be taken away, so we get screwed, blued and tattooed.
And why did this happen? Because we continue to elect the mediocre, the average the lackluster and the common to offices responsible for our welfare.
So who do we have to blame? That is obvious now isn’t it.
