If you have not been watching the show The Good Wife, you may not realize what an intriguing show you are missing. The synopsis of this drama is that the wife has been betrayed by her politician husband. Does this plot seem familiar?
She is a lawyer, who has to keep her family together, while working on legal cases. She has had to fight for an associate position in her legal firm. She has had to defend people who were similar in character to her husband.
Her children had to be raised and fed, while her husband was in prison.
Alicia Florrick, played by Juliana Margulies, has had to pick up the pieces after her husband was convicted. To add insult to injury, he was caught having trysts with hookers, and the tape sent to the family. Peter Florrick, played by Chris Noth, has been unfaithful and his antics in politics were all but legal.
The show focuses on the release of Peter Florrick and the building of trust once again between the two of them. It also brings in the courtroom dramas of her cases. The emphasis of the show is on the cases and the legal system. The home life is thrown into the mix, so that the personal aspect of the show is encased in the drama.
This is the second season for the show. The theme of the drama is a salute to hard working wives, who find themselves in similar situations. Cheating husbands, raising children, and trying to put food on the table, while the disgrace of the husband lingers in the air, is the stronghold of this program.
If you are not a fan, I suggest you tune in and see for yourself what a good show this drama is.
The husband, Peter, has been released from prison, but the real prison is for the wife, Alicia, who must garner trust in him once again. She must also add the stress of her job, and the raising of two children. These are things that many other high profile wives have had to deal with. The drama continues on Tuesday nights.
