People should use their talents and appreciate them, because you never know how far they’ll take you.
My name is Cecelia Spring. I’m the granddaughter of W. R. Morris, author of several books based off the legendary Buford Pusser and including the writter of the book titled The Twelfh Of August based off of the original movie Walking Tall and the original screenplays for the film. I love to write. I also love to read autobiographies and biographies to learn about other people’s lives. I love music, too, because it’s like a story to me. It captivates me, and I think that’s why I listen to it every day.
I was born at Sequoia Hospital in Redwood City, California, on October 30, 1990. My hair is blonde, my eyes are blue, and I’m a very down-to-earth person. In my early years of school I began writing, then started writing music at age fourteen. One of the many reasons I love to write is because it allows me to express my ideas and my feelings.
It doesn’t matter what I’m writing about, it’s just so much fun to do it. I must admit, though, that it’s in my genes, it’s a part of me, and I don’t think I could live without it. Writing makes a difference in all our lives, and it certainly has in mine. I love to read, as well, because I can relate deeply to what I read. I not only read stories, but I also feel like I’m reading when I see a movie, because movies tell a story. I also love music because, just like books, it reflects real life.
Writing has always been a big factor in my life. I’ve written so much throughout school-stories, poems, even a song. Reading helps me understand life more fully. Every story teaches me something I can apply to my own life today. Being the granddaughter of a famous writer has had a great impact on me: it kept me determined. Even though I never met my grandfather, W. R. Morris, I feel he gave me the gift of writing, and I’m proud to have it.
I’ve overcome many obstacles, and this too has helped me write. It exercised my mind and made me become more open with myself. Most of my life is still ahead of me, and I’m becoming a better writer every day.
I hope to enjoy many more years of writing. I hope that my love of writing has inspired you to do what you love. You can do anything you want with your life.
