The Heartland Brewery & Rotisserie at the Empire State Building is one of a seven restaurant chain in Manhattan. I recently attended a private alumni event at this venue with my two oldest daughters.
My oldest daughter is a graduate of Lasell College in Newton, MA and the school was sponsoring an alumni event in Manhattan. Although a small event, the President of Lasell College and a number of school administrators and faculty members were present. It was an excellent networking event for my eldest daughter since she and many Lasell graduates are in the fashion industry.
The Empire State Heartland Brewery & Rotisserie is located in the ground floor of the Empire State Building on the corner of 5th Avenue and 34th Street in Manhattan. This particular restaurant has two levels; the main floor and a lower restaurant and bar.
We arrived early and were informed that the alumni event would be held in the lower level; we did go to the lower lever bar and had a soft drink while we waited.
The Heartland Brewery has the atmosphere of a Sports Bar and Pub style restaurant; when we arrived many people were enjoying an after work drink or having dinner. The crowd was friendly and although the ballgame was on the big screen the pub was not noisy.
The location was nicely decorated in the Brewery style genre, it was clean and the wait staff was very friendly.
The locale for our event was off the lower level bar; the area was size appropriate for the event. There was a buffet and waiters and waitresses served hors d’oeuvres; additionally the wait staff took and served drink orders.
The food was well prepared and I was well satisfied with the quality: the restaurant staff was professional and accommodating. The service by every staff member I encountered was excellent.
The price for the Lasell Alumni event was $40 per person; I found this very reasonable for a three hour networking event with food, drinks and a small gift package for the alumni.
I did check out the entire restaurant and it is a well managed, friendly environment. The menu offers pub style burgers and a variety of dishes; the prices listed were reasonable for a midtown Manhattan establishment.
Most of the patrons on the evening I was there were adults or teenagers accompanied by adults: the teenagers were in the dining area with their party.
I found the decor nice, the food good and the service excellent at the Heartland Brewery. I have put the Heartland Brewery on my Manhattan’s favorites list.
The Heartland Brewery does have a website that provides information on all of their Manhattan locations. I have included the link in the sources section below.
