Lisa was a 25 year-old girl that just recently graduated from college. She grew up in this old suburban type neighborhood in the outskirts of Seattle. She was on a dead end street with only one house between her and the forest. The old abandoned house had been empty for about seven years. Rumors were that the house was haunted, just like many abandoned homes across the country.
Lisa would see weird lights and hear strange noises coming from the old home from time to time. At this time in her life she was too scared to go down the road and investigate. She soon forgot about that house as she went to college. Other things were on her mind more important than a strange light and weird noises from a place where unusual things were commonplace.
Lisa’s parents had taken their motor home on a tour across the country and left Lisa at home alone. She was heading to the east coast for a new job when she decided to have a big Halloween Party with her friends. Andy, one of Lisa’s good friends made the suggestion that they should have the party in the old house at the end of the road. No one ever comes down this road and it should be safe to get inside this house and decorate it for a party. So, everyone agreed that the old abandoned house would be perfect for such a party.
It was four days away from Halloween and everyone gathered at night, after work, and each one decorated a room. Candles were put throughout the house for light. Many of the windows had been broken and a small breeze would flow through the house making the candles flicker. It was really quite creepy. The old house also made noises as the wind blew. It was a perfect setting for a scary night. Lisa could not wait.
The night before Halloween, Lisa noticed a light coming from the old house as she looked out her window. Lisa was going to bed and just thought that one of her friends had come there to do some more decorating. She knew that if she went over to the house that she would be there all night. Halloween day was going to be busy for Lisa. Her friends were letting everyone know about the party. Her hopes were that if enough people were invited then enough food and drink would be brought so that she and her friends would not have to buy any.
Lisa went over to the house about 2pm on Halloween to inspect the job they had done. When she opened the door she was totally amazed. As she looked into the large open room, the decorations that had been placed there the previous night, where gone. Instead there was a coffin in the middle of the room with rows and rows of chairs. All were covered in dust and spider webs. As Lisa approached the coffin, she could see something was inside. She peered in and saw that it was she. That scared her. She screamed, turned, and ran for her house.
As she entered her home, the clouds rolled in and it became dark, a heavy rain poured. It was an instant thunderstorm, the type that Lisa had never seen before. In a panic, she tried to call Andy to ask him about the coffin and discovered she had no cell service due to the storm. She tried the home phone, and it too was out of order. Then the power went out when a large bolt of lightning struck a tree close to her house. It was now when she started getting real scared. And as she walked through her house checking windows, she thought she noticed a light toward the old house again. Lisa tried to calm down. Her friend Andy was a trickster and played jokes on people. She again tried to phone Andy.
As soon as the storm started, it stopped. The skies were still dark but the rain, wind, and lightning stopped. As she walked to the other side of her house she noticed that bright lights were coming from the house next door. Her friends seem to be there. The joke was on her. She had some choice words for Andy but she had to admit the trick had scared her. It was a good Halloween prank. She went outdoors and thought she could hear people talking. She walked up the porch stairs of the old house and opened the door and entered.
When she entered, the room became dark with just the light from candles that were placed all around the room. The rows of chairs now were filled with people who were still covered in dust and spider webs. Some of the people were relatives and friends, and then many Lisa did not recognize. As she approached the coffin again, she noticed that it was empty. She turned toward the people sitting in the chairs. They had got up and were closing in on her in a circle, with no way for Lisa to escape. The grabbed her, placed her in the coffin and placed the lid on top. Lisa was unable to move or scream and lay while nails were being nailed into the lid to secure it.
As the sun rose the next morning, police cars were at Lisa’s home when her parents arrived. The police had the sad duty to inform Lisa’s parents that at approximately 2:15pm on Halloween, Lisa’s car went over an embankment and dropped 130 feet into the river. No body was found in the rushing water. On Halloween nights, lights appear at the home at the end of the road. What looks like Lisa’s car sits in the driveway on those nights.
