Finding The Walking Dead Episode 2 online has been a bit difficult. Hulu isn’t hosting The Walking Dead Episode 2 online, even though they put up the pilot last week. However, the pilot was massively hyped, and had a lot of rave reviews, so they went all-out to make it available everywhere. Yet they may not do the same with future episodes, at least legally. Therefore, those who wanted to watch Episode 2 likely needed to do so on AMC last night.
Warning: Spoilers follow
Last week’s 90-minute pilot got over 5 million viewers, and many raves from critics and bloggers. But the show now has to keep up this momentum for the next five weeks, and prove that zombies can help carry a series.
But for those looking for The Walking Dead online, it may be a difficult search. Hulu hosted the pilot, yet last night’s follow-up is not on the website. According to them, no future episodes will be hosted there, and the pilot will be taken offline on Nov. 23.
Generally, AMC does not put up full episodes of their shows on the Internet. Mad Men and Breaking Bad are not on Hulu either, despite the intense following around those shows. AMC is one of the few networks that hasn’t fully exploited Hulu, or the Internet, in showing off full episodes.
Although no one officially posted Episode 2 online, it may be possible to find bootleg clips elsewhere. For those who have Comcast cable, they can watch it On Demand on their televisions at any time.
Others likely didn’t want to wait, and tuned in when it actually premiered on TV. Of course, it is unlikely that 5+ million watched, like they did with the pilot. Yet the ratings are sure to be respectable, given all the buzz from last week.
Episode 2 is not 90 minutes long, is not directed by Frank Darabont, and spends its time introducing a bunch of new survivors. Of course, they aren’t new to fans of the graphic novels, as they saw the likes of Glenn and Andrea come to life for the first time. They also saw Rick Grimes employ a rather gutwrenching tactic for survival.
While some try to catch up to The Walking Dead, online or otherwise, those caught up are now on-edge waiting for next week’s show at 10 p.m. est on AMC.
