In a zombie apocalypse like the one on ‘The Walking Dead’ series there would be what some would consider safe places and what some would consider unsafe places. Since we know that zombies are not human and are not subject to laws as we know them then we must consider the fact that they will break down doors and windows.
Here is a list of places that one would definitely not run to for long term safety when confronted by zombies.
1: Never run into any city and seek haven as this will be a breeding ground for zombies; Rick Grimes going into Atlanta on The Walking Dead.
2: Stay away from any place that might be a sanctuary site for the injured in the beginning of an attack these are always the first places to fall; both versions of the ‘Dawn of the Dead’. Mainly because they will take in anyone and that means people who were bitten and may turn out to be zombies.
3: Definitely stay away from shopping malls. Malls seem to attract zombies in large numbers even if you manage to seal off all the entrances with trucks; both versions of ‘Dawn of the Dead’. This would be the kind of place that would limit any escape plan one may have.
Here are places that might have prospects for long term safety:
1: A cruise liner could supply long term safety in the deep waters. After killing the zombies on board this might not be a bad place to hole up and it is portable. This would be like living in a portable city with all life’s luxuries.
2: Any mountainous location that one might have to climb to get too.
3: The North Pole or Alaska might have the least zombies they too can freeze in ultra cold conditions. That is unless global warming kicks in and they all thaw out
4: Any of the government missile hangers or even any of the bomb shelters built for long term survival. These would have plenty of food as well as medical supplies.
Survival in a strange environment requires strange insight.
