As I get older, I occasionally remember how things used to be a few years ago. I went to bed not worrying about our country being attacked and our security was a subject that we knew was being taken care of by our government. Our elected officials actually did what their constituents wanted them to do. Our family was the number one thing that took control of our emotions, actions, beliefs, and reason for our existence. But that idea has quickly disappeared.
As the country, and even the world, changes our priorities also have changed. And many have changed for the worse. New questions have emerged from our everyday life now. Why do many Americans value their portfolios and the need for power over their families? Why do our politicians throw us under the bus, so to speak, to take under the table money from special interest groups instead of honoring the wishes of the very people who put them in office? Why are our children getting a worthless education from our government school system? Why do so many people want power, that they are willing to cheat, steal, and destroy other people’s lives to gain that power? How can a politician stand in front of their constituents, look them in the eye, and lie to them without blinking an eye?
It all boils down to greed. Greed is more powerful than family. Greed is more powerful than morals. Greed is capable of making an honest person do illegal things. Let’s face it. The greed for power and money is what makes many Americans wake up in the morning. Greed is what makes a person attempt to do things that could land them in jail and for what? How much power can a person have? And more of a question is, why would someone want that much power?
So the answer is left up to the people of this great country. Decisions need to be made fairly quickly before we will not have to worry about making decisions. We are heading toward a life of slavery where the government will tell us what we can do and when we can do it. We will work for the government and those that want fortune, will just give it to the greedy politicians so they can decide where to spend it. Education is the key here and I am not talking about going to school. It is time that everyone does a bit of research and makes an educated decision when it comes time to vote. The best way to start a new, is to start fresh with new people in government and stay on their butts to keep them honest. Political parties do not really matter. It is the individual that is chosen. Is there any honest people out there anymore?
The time is approaching for the mid term elections. The time for America to choose their future. This is the time to get it right. Your children will thank you for it.
