Do you love writing and want to find ways to use your skills to help make the world a better place? Are you interested in seeing volunteer projects get the help they need in your communities and in other places too? Here’s a challenge just for the fun and the good spirit of it.
Write an Article titled : ” Give the Gift of Time at the Holidays: 2010 Volunteer Opportunities in ‘CITY, STATE'”
The article should list possible places to do volunteer in the area you live in. Talk about why you think it’s valuable to donate time and energy to good causes in your community, and then share some examples. Research what organizations in your area accept volunteers, how someone would get involved, and what might be expected of them. Add your sources and links to the organizations you review in a simple resource section at the end of your article. Feel free to add back-links to your other online projects. You might look into food banks, hospitals, animal shelters, homeless shelters, your local salvation army chapter, local religious organizations that do charity work, and any other local charitable non-profit or tax supported agency.
From your research write an AC article; create a hub, make a lens, or post it on a blog or social networking site. Any or all of the above are fine. If possible, also include a link to this article, so that other people who might dig the idea become aware of it. Then send a link to your = article / lens / hub / blog/ website / Social Network Post = to Nicolette Stevens at email@example.com .
The links will be added here and shared in several other places, and you will be sent notification of where the links have been added if you want to share some link love with the Writer’s Make a Difference Project. :-)
In this way, a kind of spiderweb across the internet can be created, serving to point caring people towards ways to help. Everyone who participates will be encouraged to read and comment on each others ideas. We can help each other make a difference.
Helping in this project will give you opportunities to promote volunteer efforts in your area, while sharing your helpful ideas with a wider audience. Hopefully it will reach out to different communities in many interesting ways, and may foster good connections between writer’s of all ages and backgrounds who want to make a difference in the world around them.
