The “Foellinger – Freimann Botantical Conservatory” located in the City of Fort Wayne, Indiana is known for featuring a variety of special events and exhibits throughout the year.
What follows is a brief description of some of the winter activities available at the conservatory.

From November 20th, 2010 until January 2nd, 2011 the “Foellinger – Freimann Botanical Conservatory” will be adorned in its’ holiday finery.
A special “Candyland” exhibit featuring a 12 foot tall poinsettia tree, life-sized gingerbread men, a gingerbread house and more is sure to delight children of all ages.
There will also be photo opportunities with Santa and two of his reindeer from Noon until 4:00 pm on December 4th, 11th and 18th, 2010.
Peter Pan Exhibit
The “Peter Pan” exhibit will run from January 8th until January 10th, 2011. Highlights of the “Peter Pan” exhibit include a special “Peter Pan Day” to be held from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm on February 5th, 2011.
The events of “Peter Pan Day” will include “Lost Boy” games, photo opportunities with “Peter Pan”, free washable tattoos, and an edible “Tinker Bell Fairy Wand” that has been graced with a generous helping of fairy dust.
Horseradish: Herb of 2011 Workshop
The conservatory will be honoring the horseradish with a special workshop on January 13th, 2011 from 6:30 pm until 8:00 pm. The workshop will focus on how to cultivate the herb as well as how to use it in cooking applications.
The deadline to register for this workshop is January 7th, 2011 and participation requires remittance of a $6 per person fee.
Handmade Valentine’s Day Cards
Crafters Jenn Roberts and Ellen Ferguson will be on hand at the conservatory on January 29th, 2011 to teach visitors how to make homemade Valentine’s Day cards.
The deadline to make reservations for this event is January 21st, 2011. There is an additional charge of $19 per person for participation in this program.
Nature Photography Workshop
On February 26th, 2011 from 9:30 am until Noon photographer Bob Goines will host a workshop on nature photography techniques.
The deadline for reservations is February 19th, 2011. Would be participants should also be aware that there is a required workshop fee of $19 per person.
Admission and Event Fees
As of 2010 admission to the “Foellinger – Freimann Botanical Conservatory” is $5 per adult and $3 per child between the ages of 3 through 17. Children ages 2 and under are admitted into the conservatory for free.
The conservatory runs various admission specials throughout the year. December 2nd, January 6th, February 3rd and March 3rd, the conservatory is offering $1 admission for anyone over the age of 2 who enters the facility between the hours of 5:00 pm and 8:00 pm.
In addition $1 admission will be in effect on December 26th, 2010 for those that visit the conservatory between the hours of Noon and 4:00 pm.
Furthermore, participation in certain special events requires the remittance of an additional fee. The fee varies based on the event itself.
Hours of Operation
The “Foellinger – Freimann Botanical Conservatory” is open Tuesday through Saturday from 10:00 am until 5:00 pm and Sunday from Noon until 4:00 pm. It also maintains extended hours during certain times of the year.
For example, it is open until 8:00 pm on Thursdays and Fridays between Thanksgiving and Christmas.
