At the moment, our son is playing Risk with hubby and our adult daughter and our daughter is watching Hannah Montana. The day as a whole was a fairly good day, being the weekend, I did spend a little more time writing articles so they will be ready and waiting for the weekdays to start and be viewed. In between writing I do some cleaning and earlier even played a game of Liars Dice with my two wonderful daughters. I love Liars Dice, my girls are honest to a fault so I know when they are bluffing usually, and they do get me once in awhile. I on the other hand and really good at bluffing so they never know with me and I can usually get all their dice taken from them. It is a great game for statistics, probability and percentages and just great fun!
I also took the time to cut my youngest daughters hair as she wanted it short so she can manage it easier. I warned her I know how to cut hair but have not cut hair in 20 some years but she agreed she would not hold that against me. Her hair is actually time consuming as when you get into it, you find out how thick it really is! Wow does she have some hair! In the end, she loved her new hair cut, which I am glad, I was a little worried although I did not let her know that of course! She is talking about wanting hot pink stripes in it so I will have to check to see what friendly item I may be able to use on a 9 year olds hair, after all hair is a part of creatively expressing ones self.
Our son, hubby and adult daughter also played tons of Rock Band today; they are reaching really difficult levels and are getting really good at it! We are also waiting for our son’s friend to come over to spend a few days with us. It is 9pm and they just called to say they are on their way. They are not usually this late but they had a lot of running around today so are running behind. We always enjoy it when this friend spends a few days with us; he is a great kid and fun to be around.
I helped our daughter find this great site online today where she spent some time at and really loved it. It is Shidonni.com where she uses a paint program to draw her own virtual pet then when she is done, she can play with it. She drew an adorable cheetah and I was impressed at how good it turned out. She also can draw her own background, food and clothing for the pet and all that good stuff. She just loved it and spent quite a bit of time there being creative and drawing all sorts of things that really come to life when they get to play them.
Watching all the cooking competitions got me to thinking, after cooking as long as I have; I tend to buy the same type of ingredients all the time. So I came up with this plan that the next time we have money to go grocery shopping it will be a game of everyone alternating putting what ingredients that the choose to place in the cart. We then will have to make our meals consisting of the items that ended up in the cart, could prove to be quite an interesting experiment. Anyone would be free to challenge themselves to make a meal as well based off of what we had gotten. I think I may really enjoy this grand plan and what a wonderful way to be introduced to new foods and ingredients.
