When you ask “What’s your favorite movie trilogy?” you probably expect to hear something like “Star Wars” or “The Lord of the Rings” but I weighed the possibilities and decided on something a little different. “Star Wars” almost was my favorite but it technically is not a trilogy anymore. “The Lord of the Rings” is one of my favorites but a new trilogy just made it to the top of my list with its third chapter being released earlier this year. My new favorite movie trilogy is the “Toy Story” trilogy. Why is “Toy Story” my favorite movie trilogy? Here are three reasons why “Toy Story” is my new favorite movie trilogy.
The “Toy Story” Trilogy is the Flagship of the CGI Film Industry
When “Toy Story” came out in 1995 it was the first movie of its kind, which was all in CGI animation. It opened up the door for all of the other CGI based movies that we enjoy today, including “Toy Story 3.” Toy Story was a breakthrough then and it has proven its concept over the course of 3 movies and 15 years. The second edition was loved when it came out and the third edition is loved by a whole new generation now.
The “Toy Story” Trilogy Lets Me Relive Part of My Childhood
I loved the original “Toy Story” when I was 12 years old. It was a fun watch with all of the action from the army men to Buzz Lightyear to Woody being the sheriff in town. It made me more interested in the toys that I had; at a time that I thought I was getting too big for toys. As a teenager I even liked “Toy Story 2” for much of the same reasons that I liked the first one. Yes I picked up some toys and played with them even as a teenager. Now with the third edition; I was able to watch it with my daughter. I think she enjoyed it for the same reasons that I enjoyed the first two. Now we can watch all three of them and play with toys afterward.
The “Toy Story” Trilogy Offers Three Great and Unique Stories
The “Toy Story” movies are enjoyable watches. They have elements in them that are appealing to almost every audience. They are cute, funny, action packed, touching, and have great lessons about friendship that every audience can identify with.
With three great stories and the convenience of releasing the film to different generations; the “Toy Story” trilogy has to be at the top of the list as my favorite movie trilogy.
