While most tourists come to Las Vegas and stay on the strip, locals know there is a whole world that seems miles away from the glitz and glamour the city is known for. Las Vegas is home not only to all the celebrity chef and fine dining establishments in the casino hotels, but there are a number of local restaurants worth a try. If you like Thai food, consider trying one of these restaurants on your next visit to Las Vegas.
1. Komol Restaurant
Komol Restaurant serves authentic Thai cuisine and vegetarian dishes. They have been in business over 40 years and feature one of the biggest selections of vegan dishes in Las Vegas. One of their famed dishes is the house special duck, which is served deep fried with sauteed black mushrooms, onions, carrots, and snow peas.
Komol is located just east of the Strip in the Commercial Center and the best part — they deliver to all Las Vegas Strip hotels!

2. Lotus of Siam
Located in the same Commercial Center, the Lotus of Siam is another popular Thai restaurant in Las Vegas. This hidden gem has been mentioned in numerous magazines and was noted to be the “single best Thai restaurant in Northern America” by Gourmet magazine.
Saipin Chutima specializes in northern style Thai food; however, her Bangkok style food is quite delicious as well. Her and her husband Suchay had owned and operated Renu Nakorn, a Thai food restaurant in Norwalk, California, but sold it and moved to Las Vegas for better opportunities. It was there they bought Lotus of Siam in 2000 and have been going strong since.
Be wary, Lotus of Siam tends to get packed at peak dining times, so it is best to call ahead for reservations or be prepared for a long wait. Be sure to try some of their recommended dishes including, Drunken Noodles, Kang Kanoon Jack Fruit Curry, Crispy Duck Panang, and the sticky rice with mango (when fresh).
