Halloween, Thanksgiving and any other autumn gathering can be fun and you can add to the festivities with a fun fall table. A fall table can be done inside or outside. A outdoor grill in the fall can be a great time to make up a fall themed table. Use squash, pumpkins and gourds for a fall table as decorations and party favors.
You can use pumpkins, squash and gourds as serving bowls. Cut off the top and scrap out the insides and you can put food in them to serve to your guests. If you don’t like the idea of your food touching the insides of the pumpkin or squash you can put a small bowl inside the pumpkin or squash or you can cover the inside of the pumpkin or squash with some clingy plastic wrap. You can use these great bowls to serve cranberry sauces, dips or even the cooked squash that came from the bowl you cut it out of.
Bandanas make great fall napkins on a festive fall table. And if you can sew you can sew together several bandanas to make a tablecloth. Use bandanas of the same color or mix them up for a festive fall table.
You can make drinking containers out of gourds. Cut off the top of the gourd and hollow out the gourd. Then let it dry out and you can use it to serve drinks with. Gourds are hard to cut open so you may need to use a saw to cut off the top. Careful that you don’t cut yourself when cutting open a gourd.
Paint a pumpkin, squash or gourd for a table centerpiece. You can put the centerpiece on some fallen leaves of different colors for added fun. You can use small gourds by each plate for name tags just paint the name of each guest on a gourd and place it near their seat.
For drinks you can serve apple juice or apple cider. You can serve the apple juice or cider in lovely autumn colored cups. If the weather is hot you can serve the apple cider cold and if it is cold outside you can serve hot apple cider.
The food at an autumn festival can be made with fall foods like pumpkin pie and cooked squash. Zucchini bread or muffins make excellent fall food. Cranberry sauce and pumpkin sauce can make your table look like autumn. A large turkey or duck can look festive and delicious sitting in the center of your table.
