There are many people who thought that it would cost a lot of money to set up a network where you can share one printer among many computers. However, those are the days of the past. It has become one of the easier and free things of life. You don’t even have to have a lot of computer knowledge to enable the Windows 7 printer share feature using the new tools that come with Windows 7.
If you want to enable the Windows 7 printer share feature with Windows 7 then you will have to make a Windows 7 Homegroup. A Windows 7 Homegroup allows you to make a simply network between all of the computers that are connected to your wireless router or wired router. However, this Windows 7 Homegroup network will be protected by a simple password that will be generated automatically. You can change the password after you finish creating the Windows 7 Homegroup.
To make the Windows 7 Homegroup, you will have to go to the control panel. There you will be able to see the icon that is labeled, “Homegroups.” If you don’t see it then you will need to choose the option in the upper right hand corner to view control panel options by large icons. You will need to click on the option that allows you to start a new Windows 7 Homegroup. You will be able to choose what you want to share to the computers that are connected to the Windows 7 Homegroup. Make sure that you have to box checked that allows you to share printers. After you have finished creating the Windows 7 Homegroup, you can go back into the control panel to change the password to the Homegroup. Just click on the option that allows you to change the settings after you click on the Homegroups icon in the control panel again.
On the computers that will be connecting to the Windows 7 Homegroup, you will have to make sure you labeled the connection as a home connection and you will have to enter the password when you access the Homegroup feature from the control panel.
