Dream Green Wedding Blog
I love this blog for a number of reasons. There is always plenty of great photography and the design of the website itself is lovely and easy to follow. Each post shows environmentally friendly products or real eco-friendly weddings and explains why each post is considered green. They provide great links to green wedding resources and even have their own Twitter account providing daily green wedding tips that you can follow here. It is updated regularly, but only once or twice per week.
Green with Envy Events
There are some really great suggestions in this blog for your green wedding. One of my favorite posts from their blog is about balsa wood flowers that I have been swooning over all summer after seeing a photo on a wedding photographer blog. Tons of photographs and great ideas! Their blog has a lot of great wedding and eco-friendly links for you to check out and it’s updated frequently so you should add it to your RSS feed or bookmark it.
Earth Friendly Weddings
This blog is not overly in your face pushy about being eco-friendly. They have some great tips and photography on this blog. They feature upcycled, environmentally friendly products. The frequency that this blog is updated is truly amazing considering the owner just became a new mom.
This blog is updated frequently. The overall template is charming. A tab on the top of the page titled “Green Things” drops down so you see eco-friendly catering and mixers, gown preservation, green education, green invitations, jewelry, wedding decor, and wedding favors. There are suggestions on how to make sure your cake, clothing, and bouquet are green.
Recycled Bride Blog
This blog has some truly amazing photography, I mean some of theses posts have tons of photographs and they are beautiful. It’s a very aesthetically pleasing website with a great layout. The basic idea of the site that the blog stems from is recycling wedding items such as your wedding dress, accessories, and decor by reselling it on their site instead of throwing it away after the ceremony and therefore being green. This blog is updated very frequently also so it is a must follow!
The template of this blog is beautiful. The photographs are not always formatted correctly and sometimes look a little strange, but the ideas and suggestions are admirable. There are DIY projects for how to repurpose things and how to use items found in nature to help put together your wedding decor. This blog is updated very frequently and they have their own Twitter account that you can follow and see when the blog has been updated.
Green Wedding Slices
There were a couple of months where there were no posts on this blog so it is hard to say whether or not the consistency of posting will keep up. Frequency of updating aside, this is a great blog. It helps inform you on how having a green wedding can help save money and other really great articles. Not a lot of photography, but plenty of good reading material for an eco-friendly bride!
Down the Green Aisle
This blog has great DIY projects and suggestions for your wedding. Being green does not mean that you have to sacrifice artistry. The suggestions in this blog are exquisite and unique. It was updated pretty frequently until April 2010, but has not been updated since then. Browse through the archives for green wedding ideas.
While there is not much beautiful photography as you usually see in a good wedding blog, this one still makes the list. This blog is updated at least once per week. Most of the posts are related to bride relevant green news, but they also cover tips for sustainability in your wedding and honeymoon planning. They also have a tab called Ethical Brides & Green Grooms which links to real green weddings so you can see what eco-friendly options real couples opted for on their wedding day.
Green Weddings – Tips and Resources
The design of the blog is simple. The posts are short and to the point. Almost every blog entry is featuring an environmentally friendly product targeted towards weddings more than wedding inspirations per say. The major downfall of this blog is how rarely it is updated which has only been a handful of times this year. It is worth a look through if you want to browse back through the archives, but it might not be worth adding this one to your RSS feed.
