The economy is picking up a little bit and there are job positions that pay higher than the average $10hr. While making $10 per hour is okay when you don’t have a college education, it is not an amount you want to make forever. Some jobs require experience and that’s okay. Many of these jobs are often overlooked because they’re not listed as often as the lower paying job positions. Here are ten jobs that pay on average between $11 to $16hr.
Administrative Assistant– Administrative Assistants represent the company they work for. This job position has room for growth as an Executive Assistant. This is an ideal job for a happy, friendly, detail-oriented person who enjoys talking with the public. According to bls.gov the average salary is $29,050. Pay is $12-14hr.
Cable Television Installer– Cable Installers have to interact with customers face to face and go inside and outside people’s homes to install cable. Some other requirements are being able to work in crawlspaces and on a ladder. According to PayScale.com, Cable TV Installers can make $11.88 to $17.52 per hour. Some Cable Technicians can make $17 to $26/hr depending on overtime and experience. This job requires you to be able to work overtime and holidays.
Collections Representative– This is a great job for someone with customer service and call center experience. The good thing about this job is that most people won’t even answer their phone. If they do, people are willing to work out a payment plan or let you know that you have the wrong number. Pay is between $15-$16hr with experience.
Electronic Assembler– Having assembly experience will look good on your resume for an Electronic Assembler, because if you get hired, you can expect to make $10-$16hr.
Meter Readers– Meter Reader are the people from the Electric companies who walk to people homes and read the meter for their electric bills. Pat is $15-$16hr.
Certified Nurse Assistant– Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) usually work in nursing homes and enjoy what they do. This is also a good job if you like working with patients and want to someday become a nurse. Pay ranges from $9-$12hr.
Medical Biller-A Medical Biller usually works 9am-5pm and is responsible for verifying insurance. Medical Billers need to know medical terminology and have typing and office experience. Pay is $11-$16hr.
Computer Repair Technician– There is a need for Computer Repair Technicians in every state. You can get hired in offices, hospitals, electronic stores, and colleges. This job is pretty easy and the pay is pretty good. $10-$16hr.
Parking Enforcement Officer– The basic job description is driving around and giving parking tickets. You may not find this job on job boards because you can apply with through the cities website. Pay is $12 to $16hr.
Employment Interviewer-An interviewer can have a very promising career. Interviewers contact people, ask questions, work inside and outside of an office. Pay is $12 to $17 per hour.
