With this model Garmin offers a free NuLink service that gives users easy access to up-to-the-minute data for safety, convenience and entertainment. It also offers Bluetooth wireless technology which enables hands-free calling with a compatible phone and a traffic receiver which provides North America traffic information.
The second rated GPS device, but most popular seller, is the Tom-tom XXL 540S. This model is a lot cheaper at $128 at amazon.com, but doesn’t come with all the features as the Garmin does. Even though it features a good size 5 inch screen and IQ routes(can calculate routes and estimate times of arrival based on historical traffic data rather than on speed limits), you have to purchase the live traffic feature is an extra-cost option and the Bluetooth interface is not included.
The third best GPS device isthe Garmin nüvi 1450T 5-Inch Portable GPS Navigator. This unit is slightly higher at $215 at amazon.com, but it offers advanced lane guidance and a lifetime subscription to the SUNA Traffic Channel is part of the package. Bluetooth hands-free isn’t included in this unit, but is offers preloaded Safety alerts, including speed and red light cameras.
The fourth best GPS is the Magellan Road Mate1700which is sold at amazon.com for $195. This GPS device has a screen that measures at 7 inches and is larger than most on the market. It is perfect for trucks, RVs and SUVs since it has a larger map spectrum to follow. It has a huge point of interest guide with a built in AAA tour book, but it lacks blue tooth capability and a traffic receiver.
The fifth GPS that was looked was the Garmin nüvi 265/265T. This GPS units It offers lifetime traffic service and hands-free calling with Bluetooth at a much smaller price tag. Although it offers such great features at a lower price, the 3.5 inch screen can prove to be a little small when navigating. This GPS can be found at amazon.com for $118.
