It’s that time of year- haunted houses, monsters, vampires, halloween events and lots more grizzly things in the air. 1. Baxter Avenue Morgue, Louisville, KY
The Baxter Avenue Morque has a long history in Louisville. It was a working morque until strange happenings and disappearances caused it to close in the early 20th centruy. It was opened again in the early 1990’s as a haunted house. As you enter the haunted house you will see historial pieces that were preserved by locals. 2. Danger Run, Louisville, KY
Get in your car and go on a ghost hunt through 2 haunted houses. You will begin at a predetermined location and will be given a book of rhyming clues. After you follow the clues you will arrive at two deserted haunted houses where you then get out and spend the next hour going through the haunted houses. Once you are through the haunted house then you will receive FREE food from Dairy Queen and if there are 4 people in your car then you will receive $10 worth of gas. You don’t have to be from here to be able to play, just have a sense of fun and adventure. Tickets are $15.95. Opens September 24th.
3. Scream Park, Lexington, KY
Come to Scream Park and go through 3 attractions for one price. The first is Insanity, Hospital for the Insane. Try to find your way out of the chain links, strobe lights, and medical corridors. The second is Castle of Fear. Dark forces are taking over the overgrown and forgotten castle. Travel through the gothic archways, haunted crypts and graveyards. The third is The Abyss. Travel through the maze in the darkness and see what is lurking in the dark. The tickets are $16.00 and available here. Opens September 24th.
4. 13 Fears, Sheperdsville, KY
This haunted house will take you through movie monsters, your personal nightmares and things that you fear. The tickets are $13.00 and more information is available here. It is open now.
5. Nightmare Haunted House and Terror on Tates Creek, Lexington, KY
Two great haunted houses in one location. Nightmare Haunted House takes place at as doctor Colin Sheppard was at the pinnacle of his career as head surgeon at Mercy Hospital. He was famous for his rather unorthodox procedures, but nevertheless he saved lives. That was his job that was his calling. But the events of one fateful night would change all that, and send Doctor Sheppard into a spiraling nightmare of dread and despair for the rest of his natural life. So come explore the hospital and see what in in store for you.
While there travel Terror on Tates Creek and explore that the woods have in store for you. There are lots of classic monsters as well as new ones to frighten you.
But, the newest and most darkest is The Last Ride Simulator. Climb inside a coffin, be transported in a hearse, be dropped in a hole and allow yourself to be buried alive. There is a camera simulator for your friends to see how you handle going for your last ride. Tickets are $3 and information about all 3 events are available here.
