Who on Earth could imagine tuning out when you hear those 8 little words, “Live from Hollywood, it’s Dancing with the Stars”? It’s unique, it’s timely, and it’s full of humor, drama, spills, chills and thrills (and that’s just the judges’ commentary). Dancing with the Stars has revolutionized viewing experiences for viewers on Monday and Tuesday nights during its 11 formidable seasons on ABC. If you aren’t already hooked on “Dancing”, here are 5 reasons to watch that might just change your mind.
Of course on a show called “Dancing with the Stars” you’d tune for the dancing, that’s a given. The show allows you to see your favorite stars bust a move on American’s most recognizable dance floor, allowing you to see them in an entirely new light. I mean, who really expected Drew Lachey to shimmy and shake like a pro or Emmit Smith to be as graceful as a gazelle? The show opens up a completely new venue for heroes and zeros that we might otherwise have missed.
Male and female, all I can say is “hubba hubba”. From the sexy physic of dancers like Karina Smirnoff and Maksim Chmerkovskiy’s rippling muscles, there are plenty of sweltering, fleshy reasons to tune in and watch the dancers strut their stuff week after week.
From hosting “American’s Funniest Home Videos” to becoming one of the most beloved personalities associated on television, Tom Bergeron’s catty comments to the judges, genuine reactions to the dancers and cast, in addition to keeping a very sequined ship steered in the direction of tinsel-town timing at all times, Tom Bergeron is a great reason to tune in. His tongue in cheek remarks, and witty retorts keep the show light and entertaining even during dramatic moments. Not to mention, the man has grace under pressure; honestly if there were an Emmy for the amount of times someone can have their booty groped in public gracefully, the winner is Tom Bergeron. If you want to know why, you’re just going to have to tune in and find out.
The sequins, the glitter, the glamour, the make up, the spray tan (and that’s just for co-host Brooke Burke). All kidding aside, the costuming is always a great reason to watch the show. You never know what someone is going to try to pull off (literally in some cases) with his or her wardrobe choices from pro to celebrity. Overall, the intricate and original costuming adds to the entertainment. Everything from sultry, sexy sequins gracing the female dancers or shirtless bronzed visions of the men as they strut around the floor doing a scintillating samba, it’s all there, and sometimes it’s all bare.
The Behind the Scenes Drama
No reality show could be even the tiniest bit complete unless there was some serious behind the scenes drama to tantalize viewers, and “Dancing with the Stars” is no exception. When the glitter comes off, the gloves go on laughter, tears, screaming and yelling all seem to happen and be resolved (at least somewhat) by the airing of the next episode.
