Every year our children start before Halloween talking about toys and things they want for Christmas. My older daughter has already made a first draft of her Christmas list for Santa, and Halloween has not even arrived yet. I blame a lot of this on the media, on television cartoon channels they are already running tons of commercials featuring all the new toys. Television, newspapers and magazines are already showing the most popular toys that will surely be the top toys in demand for this holiday season. As a parent I am guilty of trying to get some of these toys for my children. A couple of years ago I searched stores everywhere for a Crayola Glow Station for my youngest daughter, after being on backorder I received it just in time by ordering online from Toys-R-Us. Below are a few of the many of the top toys for the 2010 holiday season. Your children will probably ask for at least one of these for Christmas this year, so be prepared.
Xbox 360 Kinect
Every year before the Christmas holidays, there always seems to be a new addition or type of gaming system that our children beg us to get them. Either the Nintendo, Wii, Playstation, this year it is the Xbox Kinect. You do not have to be a fortune teller to know this will be one of most in demand toys this holiday season. It attaches right onto your Xbox, it does not have any controllers it is totally voice activated. It comes with a 3-D camera and microphones in the system. The players control the games with their movements and voices, for young gamers this will definitely be on the top of their list. Here you can see they are taking pre-orders at Toys-R-Us to start delivery in November, 2010, and the price is $149.99.
Squinkies Cupcake Surprise Bake Shop
So popular already Target is sold out at the moment, though you can be notified by email when available for purchase. My five year old daughter is asking Santa for this little bakery toy shaped like a large ice cream cone. It is coin operated and filled with the little soft Squinkies. They are meant to be put on the end of your pencil eraser but my daughter just plays with them. This set includes nine little Squinkies, two chairs, a table, bed and two coins to operate the toy with. To refill the toy with the Squinkies all you do is pull out the large cherry on top. The toy is a little bakery where you children can play with all their Squinkies, they are also sold separately so you can get your child’s favorite. If they lose the special coins that come with the toy set a regular penny or dime can also be used to operate it.
Monster High Dolls
With books, doss, and toys and a Website so popular my tween daughter has a hard time being able to log onto these Monster High Dolls are definitely one of the top toys for Christmas 2010. Here from Wal-Mart you can see they sell a two doll pack including the popular Cleo De Nile and her boyfriend Deuce Gorgon. These dolls are cool, stylish and very popular, you can also purchase other dolls separately. This set for $29.99 also includes Perseus and Hissette, their cute little pets, and diaries for the dolls. With these dolls being so popular I definitely suggest purchasing them long before the holiday season arrives.
Young children will go wild for these plush little, bright colored animals. For $12.99 you can see the six different selections offered from Toys-R-Us. Your little ones will love these in demand fun, toys this holiday season. You squeeze their belly to get them to sing a note, or their hands to hear one of the three modes you can pick from. They are chatter (which is like their own language), song (they sing favorites like “Home On The Range”), and harmony (they sing together). The perfect Christmas gift for little children, but also fun for older ones.
Lego Board Games
Lego is bringing it’s fun to a whole new age group of children this holiday season. On the Lego aisle at your local toy store you will find new Lego Board games that are for children ages 7 to 14. These games range in prices from $14.99 to $26.99, they are unique that the board games are entirely constructed out of Lego’s. These will be on the top of all your children’s Christmas lists when they see the selection of games. A few are:Minotaurus, Lava Dragon, Ramses Pyramid, Atlantis Treasure and the popular Harry Potter franchise. Each game your children play will be unique since they can customize the die and put the Lego’s where they choose. These in demand board games are fun and will stimulate their imagination when playing.
