The Seattle Seahawks’ all-time passing yards leaders include three quarterbacks who have more than 20,000 yards with the team. They are topped by the Seahawks’ current starting quarterback and Pro Bowler Matt Hasselbeck.
5. Jon Kitna: 7,552 yards
Jon Kitna began his NFL career in Seattle and became one of the Seahawks’ all-time passing yards leaders. From 1997 to 2000, Kitna made 33 starts for the Seahawks with 49 passing touchdowns and a QB rating of 76.3. In Seattle, he topped out at 3,346 passing yards in 1999, but he later threw for a career-high 4,208 with Detroit in 2006. Kitna also threw for more than 10,000 yards in Cincinnati as one of the Bengals’ all-time passing yards leaders. His career total is up to 28,829 and counting.
4. Rick Mirer: 9,094 yards
The starting quarterback in the mid-1990s, Rick Mirer ranks fourth among the Seattle Seahawks’ all-time passing yards leaders. Mirer averaged 165.3 passing yards per game and threw 41 touchdowns for the Seahawks from 1993 to 1996. He was an above-average rushing quarterback, racking up 880 yards on the ground with six touchdown runs in 51 starts.
3. Jim Zorn: 20,122 yards
The first starting quarterback in franchise history, Jim Zorn remains one of the Seattle Seahawks’ all-time passing yards leaders. From 1976 to 1984, Zorn played 126 games for the Seahawks and averaged 159.7 yards with 107 touchdown passes. He notched career-highs of 3,661 passing yards and 20 TDs in 1979 as he led the Seahawks to a winning season.
2. Dave Krieg: 26,132 yards
Three-time Pro Bowl quarterback Dave Krieg ranks second among the Seattle Seahawks’ all-time passing yards leaders. With Seattle throughout the 1980s, Krieg reached the 3,000 yard mark in four seasons with the Seahawks and six times overall in his NFL career. He owns the Seahawks’ career touchdown record with 195 and their single-season touchdown record with 32 scoring throws in 1984. Over the course of his 19-year career, Krieg tallied 38,147 passing yards, good for 13th in NFL history.
1. Matt Hasselbeck: 28,543 yards*
The Seattle Seahawks’ all-time passing yards leader is their active starting quarterback, Matt Hasselbeck. After backing up Brett Favre for two years in Green Bay, Hasselbeck was acquired by Seattle in 2001 and immediately became the primary quarterback. Through 117 starts, he is averaging 214.6 passing yards per game with 170 touchdown passes and a QB rating of 83.0. In 2005, Hasselbeck helped Seattle reach the first Super Bowl in franchise history. The three-time Pro Bowl QB has six seasons north of 3,000 yards including the Seahawks’ single-season record of 3,966 set in 2007.
