Listening to music while working is like a ritual. Nothing pumps me up to lift weights in the gym like blasting rap songs. From Eminem, to 2pac, to 50 Cent, rap songs and their beats make my blood boil and motivate me like nothing else to lift weight and lift them hard. Whether you are running, bench pressing, lifting like there is no tomorrow, the one thing that allows the whole experience come together is music. Not all rap songs work, the best ones are those that have an amazing beat to go along with killer lyrics. Rap songs that speak to you and make you want to explode on the weight. I love songs that make me feel like I’m in a fight or extremely mad. Songs that you can follow and can pump you up from the begging to the very end.
This list will go from the begging of my workout playlist, beginning with lighter songs, and onto the better ones down the list.
Let’s start of with number 10.
10. Best Rapper Alive by Lil Wayne
Wayne brings the heat with his Best Rapper Alive. The songs constant lyrics and amazing Chorus pumps me up when warming up. Whether I’m bashing the daylights out of the Heavy Bag or doing pushups, Best Rapper Alive keeps me going and breaking a sweat. Lights out, this is one of Lil Wayne’s better songs and is the first one on my workout playlist.
9. Disco Inferno by 50 Cent
50 cent brings it all on this one, the beat is crazy good, the lyrics and chorus make me want to jump up and down. I find this song good for when I’m running, it’s got a great flow and makes me want to sprint. The song has some intense moments, and then the chorus hits you.
8. Curtains Down featuring Eminem, 50 Cent and Dr. Dre
An all around classic by Eminem. Last song in one of Eminem’s best Albums, Encore. The beat hits you non stop while you’re listening to Eminem and 50 cent spitting raps. Chorus is a mix of 50 cent and Eminem and it’s just flat out sick. One of my favorites when doing an extended workout such as running or jump rope.
7. One shot 2 shot by Eminem (featuring D-12)
The song is intense, a story of an after party gone wrong, everybody getting shot up. Eminem and D-12 combine for an epic workout song.
6. Not Afraid by Eminem
The songs name says it all, I’m not afraid. If your down and think you can’t keep going, this song rejuvenates you and motivates you to go back and continue working out. I can’t tell how many times I though I couldn’t do another set of curls or military presses, then listened to this song and exploded for at least another set. The song is the ultimate motivator.
5. Patiently Waiting by 50 Cent (featuring Eminem)
Combined, 50 and Eminem tear the stage up with this song. The beat is perfectly timed and works well when lifting weights. Eminem, like always, makes any rap song better with his sick rapping. A must have for any Rap workout playlist.
4. It’s a Fight by Three 6 Mafia
Read the name of the song, it’s a fight. The song gives you the feeling that you are in an actual fight. The heavy beat and too the songs intensity and makes it the ultimate package when working out.
3. The Uppercut by 2Pac
Extremely intense lyrics from 2Pac bring this song together. Pac in a fight, as the underdog, rapping about how the other fighter should have gave up and avoided him. Its hard to describe this masterpiece, its intense.
2. Can’t be Touched by Roy Jones Jr.
Roy Jones Can’t be touched. The entire song is like a workout, during certain days I might have this song on repeat and only blast it during the entire workout. Its that good, if you love rap and working out, you have to listen to this song.
1. Till I collapse by Eminem
My number one rap song when I’m working out. No other song comes even close to it. It has the best beat and lyrics pump you up non stop. Some days, I run this song over and over throughout every workout. Till I collapse
Listen to it if you have never heard it, I promise you that you’ll place it into your playlist the moment the song stops playing.
