What better way to celebrate the Toy Story movies then to dress yourself or your child up as Hamm, the piggy bank, this Halloween! This easy to make costume is friendly to any budget, and will be the hit of the party!
What you’ll need:
A short or long sleeved pink shirt a few sizes bigger than you would normally wear
A pillow or pillow stuffing
A novelty pig nose with elastic strap (available at any party store or online)
Pig ear headband, or hair elastics
A small jar (a baby food jar would work great!) or can
A small piece of black tape
A piece of pink pipe cleaning wire and a pin (optional)
A bank stopper or the bottom of a small white plastic cup
First, place the small strip of black tape on the back of the shirt approximately in the middle. That will be the coin slot. Then affix the bank stopper or cup bottom to the middle of the front of the shirt. A small amount of hot glue or double sided tape will work great.
Next, put on the shirt and tuck it into a pair of pants. Black or pink would work best. If you are using a pillow, put it beneath the shirt before you tuck it in. If you are using stuffing, tuck the shirt in, then put the stuffing down the top of it, so that it doesn’t fall out.
Then, if you have long hair, make pig tails high on either side of your head and double them over to create ears, then spray your hair with the pink hairspray. If you have short hair, spray your hair pink (optional), then put on the pig ear headband.
Coil the pink pipe cleaner up in the shape of a pig’s tail and pin it to the back of the shirt, or the top of your pants.
Place some coins in the small jar or can and put it inside the stuffing or behind the pillow in your shirt (or wherever you think it will make the most noise) so you jingle while you walk!
Put the nose on, and you are ready to go!
Have a happy Halloween!
